Remote Control Color Changing LED E27 Light Bulb

I bought both Sound activated 15 Color LED Light Bulb and Remote and Color Changing LED Globe Light Bulb and Remote (Standard screw in E27 base) at the same time. They're fun gadgets, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. The remotes are incompatible, and this bulb is affected by pressing some button on the other bulb's remote.

Here are some useful specs, which the manufacturer should mention on the page:
* 15 individual colors to choose from, plus white
* 3 levels of brightness per color
* "strobe" and "flash" mode change colors without transitions
* "fade" mode changes colors with transitions. A cycle lasts for about 30 seconds.
* "smooth" mode changes colors with slower transitions. A cycle lasts about 1 minute and 8 seconds.
* brightness is equivalent to that of a ~10W incandescent bulb when the LED bulb is on red, and ~30W (about 120 lumens) when on white or blue. The luminosity of the other colors is somewhere in between.
* remote takes one CR2032 battery

Pros:
* globe shape spreads more light than the PAR shape of the Sound activated 15 Color LED Light Bulb and Remote
* red looks nice
* purple looks nice too

Cons:
* uneven brightness. Depending on your application, you might want two such bulbs for a white 10'x14' room. Rooms with darker interiors will look even dimmer.
* the fading is too fast, even in smooth mode, and you can't control the speed
* the fading from red to green is too harsh in "smooth" mode, and somewhat garish
* there is no manual, for either of the products, but they're not really hard to figure out

The bottom line is that the slower fading functions were disappointing, so I ended up having the bulb set on just one color. If you want slower fades for a smooth atmosphere, you'll need to keep searching. For faster transitions, the Sound activated 15 Color LED Light Bulb and Remote has the extra feature of synching with music.
