OUR DOORS ARE DEEP SET IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE, BUT NOT UNUSUAL. THESE JUST DON'T WORK FOR US, BUT COULD WORK ON A DIFFERENT HOUSE; ONLY 1 STAR BECAUSE THEY NEED TO MAKE THIS MORE CLEAR

This is the only door alarm I could find that would suit my apartment living. It does exactly what it says but it's not very loud and the on/off switch is right on the bottom of the unit! There is also a button right on the unit that delays the sound! So luckily, only an idiot would break in, be scared away by the not-so-loud woo-woo noise and not realize that the stupid delay and off buttons are right there on the unit. The remote is handy but so big and bulky; the hole for I guess what would be a key ring is awkwardly placed and does not fit on any key ring so I have to keep it in my purse instead.

I guess it's effective if you're at home and hear it go off but if your away this thing is not the most effective in scaring away intruders. I'm keeping it up just as a little added security but I wish I could find a similar product that is more effective!

No mounting screws. The Chinese say double a bats when they are actually 3 a. No expert but not 100 decibels.
