I ordered this for a few bucks and it was shipped for free. It works great with my Rebel XS. It is plastic, but I take care of my stuff, so I don't see that being a problem. I use it mainly for astro work. This enables me to do long exposures, otherwise I am restricted to 30 second exposures at max. The only other way I can get more than 30 second exposures is to use the camera with a laptop, which I do sometimes. For long exposures through the telescope I want to bring the lap top out to take advantage of other capture software. But for widefield imaging using just the camera and lens, this is a much more simple and portable solution.

I was torn between buying between Canon and this one, and decided to take the chance.
I thought it may be build cheesy, but surprisingly it is solid and small. The length is a bit longer than the width of my palm. Fits nicely in my hand.

The big plus is the button is on top (next to the cord) rather than the model where the button is on the bottom. They both function the same, but when the cord extends from the fingertip side, one has more control of the cords position.

The contacts are Gold color which resists corrosion better than the Silver colored. So that was nice.
I paid too much and could have bought the very same for $2.44 less had I searched on Amazon. Lesson learned to always search.

Shipping was quick - Ordered May 18th, shipped May 18th, received May 21st. Tested 10 times, had 10 positives, and there is no reason that this Remote would be any cheaper made than the one by Canon. They all use plastic now days, sturdy & light weight.

This is a neat little device to use with your digital SLR either for creative photography to get a good shot with minimal camera shake when in a low light setting. You must mount the camera to a tripod; you can use a fully automatic setting if you want and let the camera do the work and you don't have to worry about movement.

Product arrived quickly and was what I expected. It works ok. The only problem is it doesn't always trigger the camera. There's a small art form to getting it to work every time but for that price I'm certainly not complaining.

I'm glad I read up on my camera and found out I had to have a remote with a cord because I have no infrared. I was nervous about ordering it because it isnt canon brand but it works perfect!

I was deciding between a Canon brand shutter release cable or a third party one like so.
Now why would I pay 20$(Canon Remote Switch RS60 E3) for something that I could get for 6.99?

I wouldn't.

This is a perfect product for reducing camera shake, a need if you're shooting long exposures, and it's really cheap.
It does sort of feel flimsy in your hand, and is very small ... but from what I've experienced, it holds up very well! (I've already dropped it twice lol)
Defiantly worth the buy!

I will be posting some example shots as soon as possible!

Needed something that would allow me to take photos longer than the 30 second max on my Canon Xsi. This fit the bill wonderfully and even has a lock position for those REALLY long shots. Great price and super fast shipping. Highly recommend this be added to anyone's camera bag.
