Good Enough,

While this is not on Solid State, this is far better than most on the label. Advent is remniscent of Strongarm and Shai Hulud, as well as Turmoil and maybe even some NY style hardcore. the earlier reviews stated that there are members from Beloved, however Beloved was't that hardcore given the 50/50 split singing Vs hardcore vox. This bands is. You might as well forget Beloved had these guys in the band beacuse they sound nothing alike. The lyrics are faith based and very heart felt. I recommend this if you are in need of a hardcore album that isn't anything but hardcore. AS I said before, Strongarm is a definite influence both musically and lyrically. Maybe even the name (advent of a miracle). Good all around album. worth the 10 bucks or so, depending on where ou buy it. Also to the country bumpkin that called the group vocals corny, ummm thats what hardcore bands do. They have sing-alongs and gang vocals. Its the one of the many definements of the genre. Your just jealous you don't get invited up on stage for the gang vocal sing-alongs!

Advent- Remove the Earth (2008) 4.5 out of 5
Well here we are, staring at an album with a nice cover (i think its nice anyway...) and wondering what kind of music is on here. well be warned... its HEAVY. i mean not like Cannibal Corpse heavy but still. Advent is a band formed of former members of beloved who was an amazing band, and to compare Advent to Beloved would be, in my opion, stupid and unfair. now on the the review. hmm, well Remove there earth isn't nessicarly ground breaking but it;s good hardcore or metalcore, or what ever you wanna call it, (i persaonally say Metalcore), it has some really good music to it with feirce vocals that i don't recomend people over 70 to listen to for fear of a heart attack. i don't reccomend this if ur idea of heavy metal is like...disturbed or linkin park, but if you like bands like Demon Hunter, Oh Sleeper, or Misery Signals, there's a good chance you'll like this too.

I agree with W. Meranda, Strongarm and Shai Halud are definitely big influences on Advent's sound. He did say they aren't on Solid State, which they are, Tooth and Nail Records is the parent label of SS. The lyrics are solid and the music is pretty heavy, overall the album is brisk and catchy. I caught them on the Demon Hunter tour this year and they put on an energetic show. Joe's vocals are much stronger than they were on the Beloved album and ep.
The other reviews are a little off. Comparing this to Beloved and pointing out the "cheesy" gang vocals shows a lack of understanding of this genre. And the line about this being worth checking out if you're into grindcore is WAY off. This is hardcore and nothing but. Listen to the samples and judge for yourself.
