Incredible. This album will transfer you to another dimension that i'm not even sure its creators have found. Sure there is talent but its the creativity that makes this album fly. Each song is so thickly layered. Hear this album, you will be amazed.

I heard this album for the first time while driving down a dark & winding country road. There was a light fog, no moon & I could just make out the shadowy shapes of the leafless trees along side the road as I slipped into the world of Remy Zero.I've had this album for over 5 years & it's still on the top of my rotation. This album pulls you through lyrical idiosyncrasy, & experimental instrumentation, to melodic brilliance. Gold Star Speaker & Twister are favorites of mine. Haunting, hopeful, melancholy, creative & inspired are words that constantly come to mind. Villa Elaine & The Golden Hum build beautifully off of this base, but this is where it began for me.

This debut, like many others, is the less-polished version of the band's second album. Although it failed to cause the same immediate reaction that I felt after hearing Villa Elaine, the album still deserves attention. Remy Zero is testing the waters, figuring out their style, and each song varies from the next. However, when listening to it a few times, you begin to appreciate the band's potential. After purchasing this album, my obsession with this band grew to a new level!

I would give this album a 5 if Shelby had restrained himself from adding a few songs to the album. But the album really is awesome, and I love Christmas and Twister among the other beautiful songs Cinjun sings. Remy Zero is one of the best bands ever, and you really would miss out on some awesome songs without this album.

For any one that has not heard any of Remy Zero's Works then I would say don't start with this. Get "The Golden Hum" if you like it, and you will, then move to the rest. While "The Golden Hum" is an undeniable masterpiece, a lot can be said of the other sound tracks. This and "Villa Elain" are great cd's worth anyones money. While this cd is not in the same calibur as " the Golden Hum" it is still far better then much of the other music that people are forced to listen to on the radio. This is well worth your time and money.

For every Cd Remy Zero comes out with each one of them is a master piece. All of their songs are great its very had or even impossible to find a song from them that you dont like! In this cd one of my favorite songs is decend. I remember one day i was driving home and i was really upset about something that happend that day and the song came up and one of the things that got stuck in my mind from the song is "I wont descend" and immidiately i started to get into a good mood again because i knew that i wasnt going to let anything get in my way and that i wouldnt descend because of something that had put me off into a bad mood. All of their songs are great and their lyrics really CAN speak to you all you have to do is listen. All of their songs have the best beats, they are great for listening in a high volume, and its the types of songs that you will feel good about listening to it. Remy Zero is a great band give them a chance and you wont regret it! I guarantee!!!! :)
