Renée Clarke was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. A graduate of McGill University, she married, had three daughters, and moved to the United States to get away from the strangling political atmosphere in Quebec during the 1970s. A trip West convinced her to move once again. She feels most comfortable in the Rocky Mountains with a backpack, lost in some deep rocky canyon with her youngest daughter. Surviving a bitter, endless divorce and a life of doing too often what she thought she must do, she has given it all up for her art, sculpting, and writing.
