I Love the humor that was on Ren & Stimpy .John Kricfalusi is not olny the creator of Ren & Stimpy but the voice of Ren Hoek .If you are a Spümcø fan then own It .

An updated version of the classic themes of lost (and found) love in the way only Ren and Stimpy could do it. You will not be disappointed with this video if off-beat humour is your taste.

Yep, this episode is an excellent episode of R&S. It isn't THE best, but it is still worthwhile and something you gotta buy. If I were you, I'd buy it, it is something to see. If you aren't so sure, rent it at the closest Blockbuster, and see for yourself the magic of Ren & Stimpy.

Ren and Stimpy came along when the cartoon industry was in bad shape. What a fresh sigh of relief when this cartoon comedy team appeared on MTV in 1991. Cutting edge. Featuring the voices of creator John Kricfalusi as Ren ,and Billy West (as heard on the Howard Stern show at the time) as Stimpy. This Christmas episode "Son of Stimpy" represents the best of what Ren & Stimpy had to offer. At first it was banned from the airwaves. The series had moved to Nickelodeon, and the story based around Stimpy's flatulence, was a little too risque even for Nickelodeon's target audience. But soon R&S was airing on MTV again with the older generation seeing it on late night, and Son of Stimpy was finally aired. The fact that it was indeed a Xmas episode, was upstaged by the outrageous storyline, the melodrama, the effecting musical soundtrack (probably the most tearjerking version of Silent Night Ive ever heard).
Unfortunately, Ren & Stimpy have not yet made it onto DVD, unless you buy a pirated version of all the episodes transferred to a DVD-r or VCD from eBay. But for now, its worth it to get these hard to find VHS tapes. Especially this "Have Yourself A Stinky Little Christmas" tape. It has all the trademarks of a classic Christmas cartoon that is sure to hold up for years to come.

This is a classic story of love and flatulence as only Ren and Stimpy could tell it.

Well, this video is good if you are a fan of The Ren and Stimpy Show. This was originally a Christmas Special aired as an episode of the show.

It's funny in a disgusting ridiculous kind of way. It's not something I watch to get strongly into the Christmas spirit though. I suggest maybe renting it before you buy it.

I am a rabid fan of the original Ren and Stimpy. It was more than just a funny cartoon it really and truly was a work of art.
it is no surprise that the original creator of the show quit in disgust or that the series was finally canceled as it was just too intelligent for television. The characters were drawn with such funky grace and the mat painting was something worthy of display in an art gallery. The story lines were uproarious and the expressions depicted on the characters were the envy of any caricature artist. In addition the sound track often included obscure jazz and classical pieces that worked in well to the episodes. In my humble opinion Ren and Stimpy came close, very close, to being high art.
The feature of this video the Christmas story "Son of Stimpy" was just a little too much for Nickelodeon and for a while the episode was banned. Was it because Stimpy had a collection of talking nose goblins or was it because Stimpy's son was so much hot air?
See it and judge for yourself.

Maybe I'm just being picky, but I wasn't aware that this has a Games episode on it until I purchased it.

Son of Stimpy: One of the best Spumco episodes. The music score is great, the beginning is hilarious, the backgrounds look realistic, you name it. *****

Big Flakes: Ack. This is one of Games' worst, and that isn't saying much. The drawings look terrible, the coloring is drab, it's unfunny, and looks rushed. *

Music video: A weird music video of Ren and Stimpy that combines some of the most grossest scenes and badly sung music. The scene selection is good, but the music is best left muted.

Bottom line: If you don't have Son of Stimpy and can't find it anywhere else, get this. Otherwise, leave it.

My teenagers love Ren & Stimpy! I purchased this video as a holiday stocking stuffer and we had to dig a VCR out of the closet to watch it. I wish it was available on DVD, but it was well worth the effort. Beware that it isn't for children, but if you love the Ren & Stimpy series you will love this video!
