This review is from: Rena: How to Succeed in Spite of Life's Challenges (Hardcover)
This book is great for anyone that has obastacles in our path to success (who doesn't?). I have had the privelege of hearing Rena speak live - her story is an inspiration to all - she acheived her dreams and her dream lifestyle despite all the problems that came her way - and still do. She is a winner and not a whiner - I learned alot from her about how important it is to have a positive attitude no matter what!

If you're looking to be inspired to stand up to life's challenges, then you NEED to read this book. I have actually had the good fortune to meet this astonishing lady, twice, and she is a force to be reckoned with. Despite all of the setbacks that she has suffered (cancer, robbery, poverty, etc.) she has succeeded in her life, beyond all expectations. Her love for life will rub off on you, and you will come away from this book with a fresh outlook, and a desire to succeed. The business practices that she teaches are more like life lessons and can be applied to ANY business, not just MK.

Inspiration for my personal fight against the biggest fear,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Rena: How to Succeed in Spite of Life's Challenges (Hardcover)
When a doctor tells you cancer, that is the most dreaded diagnosis a person will ever have to listen to. The first thing you think of is death, and can I survice chemotherapy. My daughter bought this book for me when she was at a medical convention in California in 1999. This book saved my sanity and gave me the courage to ask the doctor "what's next". I am a 59 year old cancer survivor. Rena Tarbet has got to be the cancer victim's biggest hope. My thanks to Rena for her story and also for her autographed book. You are my hero!

Rena: How to Survive Despite Life's Challeges,
By Sarah (Calvert City , KY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rena: How to Succeed in Spite of Life's Challenges (Hardcover)
I may be somewhat biased in my review. I have had the good fortune to be in several of Rena Tarbets workshops that she holds for Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants. I have watched several of her audio tapes(I own 12) and watched several of her video tapes. When Rena came out with this book I knew I had to have it. Fortunately, I was able to get mine at a book signing she had in Dallas. This book is totally Rena. Rena is a real woman who happens to be a very successful business woman and she shares many of her business secrets in this book. One of the most inspiring things to me that Rena tries to get across to people is that her business secrets are good old common sense, but she uses the book to teach people (especially women) how to use there common sense as a tool for success. Rena's personal life experiences as well as her Mary Kay career show that she is an incredible woman and has beat many odds and she tells about this in the book. This book is very inspiring and after you read it, you will find yourself saying "I can" more often than "I can't".Even though Rena is very wealthy now, this has not always been the case and she hasn't forgotten where she came from. In the book and when you see her in person, she always lets you know that she remembers where she came from. Rena is so comfortable to talk to and be around that you want to invite her to dinner. You will get this feeling from the book. I think anyone that reads her book and really listens to what she says will gain alot from it. Anyone who reads the book will come to love and respect Rena Tarbet as thousands of women in this country already do. I can't say everything that I would like to about Rena and her book because I don't have enough space. I guess you can tell that I love Rena and the book. I would recommend that men and women alike read this book. By reading this book you will learn that Rena has truly achieved her success thru many challenges and after you read about her challenges and successes, you will feel like you can do more in your life.

This review is from: Rena: How to Succeed in Spite of Life's Challenges (Hardcover)
This is one of my favorite Mary Kay success stories! I read it at least once every year to remind myself of Rena's story, struggles, and success. She's definately "old school" Mary Kay...in a fantastic refreshing way. She wipes out all excuses for not achieving success in you business and in life. Very "tough love" and direct, yet extremely funny. She keeps it simple. The basics that worked for her will work for anybody. Business and life changing for sure! She made me see my ulitamte "why". Her balance of family and business and how they compliment each other is the best I've heard, second only to Mary Kay Ash herself. Buy this book, read it, APPLY it, and pass it on!

I purchased this book in 1999 from Rena in person and I loved it so much I kept it as a part of my permanent library. This past weekend I pulled it out and read it again. This is not a book for women who have cancer. This is a book for any woman who wants to live her live above average. The insight, inspiration and wisdom provided by Rena in this book is timeless and priceless.
