Great Praise and Worship CD,
By
This review is from: Renaissance (Audio CD)
Benita outdid herself with this one. I'm been waiting for this, and it definitely did not disappoint. I really love, The Lord is Good and I've seen Him work. If you are a gospel lover, this CD is a must.

The Purpose Driven CD,
This review is from: Renaissance (Audio CD)
If I may borrow from Rick Warren, I would dub this project "The Purpose Driven CD." Every song is driven by its own specific purpose. Starting with "The Lord Is Good", the objective is to paint a picture of the goodness of God and engage the listener in a season of praise. The musical intro speaks to the mystery and awesomeness of He who is high and lifted up. Soon, the horns, like Gabriel and the angels step to the mic to announce the presence of an honored guest. The verses call upon Him by various names that are descriptive of His character and power as the cadence of the chorus leads us in an exuberant, hand-clapping, foot stomping praise. When it seems that we have reached the pinnacle, the bridge catapults us even higher to the vamp, which gives the traditional Doxology a shot in the arm. Benita seals the track with a shout of one who has just climbed a high mountain - "He's Good!" "Cast Your Cares" is a smooth urban piece that simply encourages one to turn everything in his/her life to God. In a stressful and pressure filled world, this song soothes the soul. "Early" awakens one's spirit at the beginning of the day. It is none other than personal time and fellowship with God. The lyrics here speak the hearts of people who are totally and unashamedly dependent on God. They understand that they have a desperate need to be in His presence. This need is expressed as Benita raises her voice to chant praises to the Most High. Worship continues in "Song of the Lord." Now, the focus shifts from what we say and how we respond to God to His thoughts and moods toward us. He sings about love, purpose, promise, peace, joy, and faithfulness - all over us! "Speak" is simply the sentiment of the heart of a worshipper. Benita further invokes the presence of the Lord in this continuance of worship. In "God Speaks", we are allowed to hear as those present at the recording began to hear from God according to their own needs. It is a very moving experience indeed. We are now moved to testimony. "I've Seen Him Work" reviews past life experiences and remembers the hand of God moving in various situations. I suspect that there is definitely some personal experience as Benita walks through each part of the song. The "Romans 8:28 Praise" is the result of everyone taking time to look back - and the party begins now! Benita then gives account of tumultuous times in "Rescue". The hard driving band and thoughtfully orchestrated vocals bring to life rough times AND the struggle to victory. Next up is a slick neo soul love song to God. It begins by using metaphors to describe one's relationship with God. I would think the listener who may not have God would want to know God by the time Benita is done bragging on the one who makes her this "Happy!" "Gift From God" is horizontal in nature. It is an endearing song meant to uplift and encourage the listener in regards to his/her purpose to God and man. It's a song for every age group. Benita gives us an updated rendition of the Amy Grant classic, El Shaddai. It is yet another beautiful love song directed toward heaven. "Another Day" reminds us that as we are allowed more time on this earth, we are obligated to say thank you. As she sings of His unfailing mercy, she is setting us up for a right "churchy" time; and when all other words elude us we can still say THANK YOU! At the end of this marvelous trip, "I Choose To Rejoice" is most appropriate. This Minneapolis, Chicago, East Coast infused time bomb explodes into a hot sweaty declaration of YES I WILL - I WILL REJOICE in spite of what ever I go through. The Lord made this day and I will rejoice and be glad! Get ready - YOUR RENAISSANCE.

My God this cd is awesome,
This review is from: Renaissance (Audio CD)
I have purchased lots of cd's this year but this one is definately in the top three. Her voice sounds like an angel. She is definately a worshipper. I cant stop listening to it. The whole cd is based on scripture. If you do not like wasting your money on a cd with maybe one good song than this is the one to buy. Every tract is better than great. I am so pleased that i thought that this cd is worthy of the post. buy it, you wont be let down. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.
