This review is from: Renaissance and Cavalier Dance, English Country Dances [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a book, video and CD which was put together to teach English Country dancing (a precursor to square dancing which was recorded during the renaissance). The video has a number of people in renaissance garb showing the dances at the behast of a "dancing master". They go through each dance at learning speed, then at "revel" (party) speed. It's cute and instructive, though they try a bit hard with the dialog between dances. What I like best is the CD, where they also go through each dance at learning and revel speed!! There are several more dances including in the CD and book than are on the video, but once you have learned the basic steps, they are all fairly simple.
