A Beautifully Illustrated History of the Renaissance,
By Aussie Reader ""Rick"" (Canberra, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Renaissance (Hardcover)
I have very little knowledge of the Renaissance and the only reason I picked this book up in the first place was for the beautiful illustrations contained inside. I found the book easy to read and the author provided me with an understanding of this period in history and backed this up with a fine selection of paintings and other items from the masters of this period. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants an easy to understand account of the Renaissance and how it affected peoples lives. The author takes his time to explain the period in laymans terms, it was well presented and well researched. It's worth it just for the illustrations alone!
