5.0 out of 5 stars Sublime...
This double mix is probably the best Tech-house/trippy mix i have ever heard. Both CD are deep, groovy and very sensual as all track melt perfectly together till the end...

Highly recommended!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Legit, not good enough to purchase and own
Some tracks in this album are phenomenal but I find it is a hit-n-miss album. I rather buy the single tracks on itunes or something. Very melodic and chill, don't get me wrong, but for someone who has a high standard for this kind of music it isn't that great. Danny's Global Underground Miami is way better, and I didn't buy that one either. I found that most of there...

4.0 out of 5 stars Smooth, soulful, soothing, sublime, April 15, 2009
This review is from: Renaissance: Mix Collection (Audio CD)
Disc one is sooooo smooooth and soothing, yet interesting and groovey...no big breaks....just easy listening and incredible continuity.

Disc two is a bit more disjointed. But as owner of many, if not most of the Renaissance catalog, I have to say this is one of my favorites for a light easy groove.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new favorite to my EDM collection..., December 19, 2008
This review is from: Renaissance: Mix Collection (Audio CD)
This is an EDM CD purchase that was well worth it. No cheese, no tunes with unnecessary vocals, just sophisticated grooves. A solid purchase.

Both discs are fantastic! In my opinion, a lot of tunes have undertones that remind me of old classics that I love.
Ex: Ero (Katcha: Touched By God: Hooj Choons)

I'm a big fan of the Renaissance collections and must say, this is definitely one of my favorite Renaissance comps that will stand the test of time.

This Danny Album is really great. I like both CD. Have not listed enough both but i would recommend it. Iw ould give it a 5 stars but it is not as good as James Lavelles's GU Bangkok Disc 2 or Tenaglias Futurism Disc 2
I would say Disc two for this album is kind of better.
1000 time much better than Zabiela's Renaissance: Masters Series crap.

5.0 out of 5 stars And How Does It Feel? To treat me like you do..., May 16, 2009
This review is from: Renaissance: Mix Collection (Audio CD)
Disc 1 is off the chain, what a great album, how can you not like Disc 1. Starting with track 7 Danny HOwell's jaunt called Laid Out. What a great track and I just fell in love once I listened to the intro 1-6 and then peaked with 7. Oh Snaaaaaappppp, was the saying. 8- ending kicked major toosh as well. You know this man. Unbeleivable grooving nonsense and when track 13 hits you your like, and how does it feel, to treat me like you do, and how does it feel, to treat me like you do, hahaha, loveing Howell's first disc, haven't listened to second yet, but come on disc 1 is nasty!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!...then I listened to the 2nd disc., October 15, 2008

I wouldn't expect anything less from the 'Howeller"!
First disc is simply amazing! The entire mix is perfect!
Incredibly, it's so SOUL-FULL, without having a single vocal track.
I love that Danny included 'Space Jazz Carnival's' (11 year old!) track, Azymuth.

*...but disc two struggles to stay alive, with the exception of the FABULOUS 'Ero' track, (David Garcet), & Golden Lake's 'Blunt' (DJinxx Vision mix).
The track selection does get a bit boring in the middle, but thankfully, picks up a bit towards the end.

All in all, Danny does it again. SOLID RELEASE! I would have given it 5 stars had it not been for the 2nd mix.

**Note to record labels. From the minority of people who still enjoy "BUYING" CD's, WE HATE this type of paper slip-in packaging. THE CD'S GET SCRATCHED EVERY TIME YOU PULL THEM IN AND OUT!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars might not be a buy again, January 27, 2009

I LOVE Danny Howells. I did not love this one, but I like it. I can't think of a better album than his 24/7 disc on the GU label so maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges. I'm trusting that I just haven't listened to it in the same context as all the other Danny Howells CDs I have. When I got this one I felt like I did when I got Sequential 2 by Cattaneo. Sequential 1 was explosive, Sequential 2 kinda bored me. I'm hoping the feeling wears with time but for now I'm not loving this one. Don't let this dissuade you from a purchase just be aware that it might not bee the Danny you are expecting (but then again, how do you know what to expect with him?????
