Biography

British dance act Faithless enjoyed chart success in the late 90s, but have struggled in recent years to revive their popularity. Debut album Reverence (1996) contained two Top 10 hits: "Salva Mea" and "Insomnia", both featuring rapper Maxi Jazz' distinctive style. Sunday 8pm (1998) was another successful album, and single "God Is A DJ" reached No.6 in the UK charts. Outrospective (2001) and NoRead more in Amazon's Faithless Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...., February 10, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Renaissance Presents 3D (Audio CD)
Have you encountered the "Back To Mine" series? Various artists get to choose the kind of music that they play for their own enjoyment at home. This "3D" triple CD couples that kind of "stuff we like" collection with a glimpse into the roots of Faithless: various projects that the members were involved in before coming together, some of their early demo mixes, and some "friends and family" cuts (including Dido, of course). And all of it is beautifully mixed into a seamless whole. (If you rip this into iTunes, remember to mark it as "gapless".)

Some of Faithless's best work drags you out of your comfort zone, and makes you ecstatic, angry, sad, passionate, or thoughtful. This CD doesn't do any of that; it just makes you feels good. And you know, there's nothing wrong with that....

4.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Faithless Fans, November 9, 2006

This review is from: Renaissance Presents 3D (Audio CD)
This is a 3 CD set featuring the members of Faithless and other artists. The first CD is the Studio collection, it's the band making new tracks and remixing some others as well as their own. There are some great finds on this first CD, by far worth the price. The second is the Club mix featuring mostly other artists club mixes, a bit repetitive after a while but some great remixes on there for the collection. The third is a home collection, I'm guessing music that inspires the band. Not very compelling but some interesting finds as well. Overall a great collection if you're an enthusiastic fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Compilation From Faithless, February 7, 2007
This review is from: Renaissance Presents 3D (Audio CD)
Faithless made a beautiful compilation years ago with "Back to Mine." On Renaissance Presents, Faithless bring an equally balanced mix of artists(including themselves) to this CD set.

Disc 1 highlights include Faithless' "Crazy English Summer" (Brothers On High Remix) and I Giant Leap featuring Maxi Jazz of Faithless- "My Culture".

Disc 2 highlights include Re-Touch's version of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill".

Disc 3 has a beautiful song by John Martyn-"Go Down Easy". It wouldn't be out of place on a film soundtrack.

I love listening to all mixes Faithless does, and this one does not disappoint.

Highly recommended.
