best album i've heard in a LONG time,
By A Customer
This review is from: Renaissance (Audio CD)
Musically, 'The Renaissance' is some of the most melodic hardcore I've ever heard. ETC's rhythym section (Eric DeNault on bass & Theodore Panagopoulos on drums) melds together perfectly to create crushing beats for singer Anthony Martini. Vocally, Martini seems much more diverse on this album as compared to Time2Shine and The Second Coming. He switches back and forth from singing, screaming and rapping with ease. The vocals are very fluid and his 'flow' is incredible. Despite being excellent musically, however, the real strength of this album comes from the lyrics - they just hit home on so many different levels. Martini grew up on the streets and he captured all the despair of the ghetto with his lyrics. This is also one of the first albums i have heard that combines hardcore battle anthems with infectious grooves so effortlessly. In short, buy this album! You will not be disappointed...

I own pretty much every cd I can get my hands on by this band...any this cd was no exception. Since about a year ago when the band announced that this cd was being recorded I've been waiting. After two dates went by and the CD was pushed back I kept waiting...and now it's payed off. This CD is More Than Incredible. No song on this cd feels forced, everything fits perfectly...it's a little more mellow than previous cds...but don't get me wrong, it's still hard as concrete! (Yes I know that sounded dumb...don't hit me)Here goes... 1. Mandibles--- A 8/10...when I first heard this song I didn't like it...it didn't sound like old E-Town That I remembered...but as time went on it became one of my favorite songs...Great beat, mellow chorus...a great opening song! 2. More Than Incredible--- 8/10...Great song, incredible chorus...melodic breakdown...one of my favorites of this cd. 3. Metroid---5/10...the song is good, however this is my least favorite on this cd...good heavy song though. 4. So Many Nights---10/10...this is my second favorite...very mellow, very powerfull...awsome solo...just listen and relax. 5. Let's Go---7/10...I love the beat in this song...very up, put well together...easy to blast in the car on a summers day. 6. Baptism---9/10...I heard this song from a single I bought about a year ago...very powerfull...an amazing song with great guitar work...VERY POWERFULL!!! 7. Appetite For Distinction---8/10...despite the fact that most people will say this song reminds them of another white rappers hit song...this song blows me away with a chorus that makes you want to raise your hands in the arm...awsome! 8. Battlelines---9/10...Let me get this straight...E Town, Hatebreed...and the singer from Ill Nino all get together and preform...AWSOME!!! If you love hardcore then this will be your favorite...perfect fighting song!!! 9. Doormats---9/10...this is a great song to listen to driving to the beach with the windows down scaring people who have no clue who you're listening too...This song is awsome!!! 10. Punch the walls---6/10...this song is great, however it's like metroid for me...it's ok, but the other songs shine through more. 11. In the heart of wolves---10/10...MY FAVORITE ON THIS CD!!! Amazing and powerfull lyrics make this song worth the price of the cd alone!!! I can't describe it...all I can say is this is the best in my eyes!!! Well hope that helped...but don't take my word...just buy the cd!!! BUY IT NOW!!! {PEACE}

Let me begin by saying I gave this CD a 4 instead of a 5 because the best of E-Town Concrete is yet to come. Each album gets progressively more mature and thrashing. I believe the next album they put out will be truly worthy of the 5 star rating. I have been a fan of E-town Concrete for many years, and the only way you can really understand how good this band is, is to experience them LIVE. The shows come close to RIOT porportions. Ant$ the lead singer can get a crowd going as good as Billy Joe of Greenday. That being said.. this CD is just as hardcore, if not MORE SO than any of there other CD's. If you are at the gym and need some inspiration, pop this in your CD player. The best song on this CD, as far as mainstream appeal, would have to be "More Than Incredible". The bassline is earth shattering and Ant $'s lyrics take it to the next level. The most emotional, heartfelt song on this album is handsdown "So Many Nights". Ant $ writes about his experiences growing up in a poverty stricken section of New Jersey, even discussing the abuse his mother recieved from boyfriends. Even though it is a highly personal song, anybody can relate with it because it is about pain and suffering. If you hate shredding guitar riffs, passionate lyrics and a mix of rap and rock that would make Linkin Park blush, than by all means don't buy this CD. If you are looking for something totally different then what mainstream music has to offer, than by all means enter the world of E-Town.. you won't be disappointed!

I own the E-town concrete album...The Second Coming...which in my opinon is a brillant album. That got me into this band, then this album came out...they stepped it up BIG time on this album. Anthony's vocal are full of heart, pain, and personal experiences, as well as some rhymes that flow and diesel lyrics. (not to mention the terrific assortment of melody in some of thew choruses on songs like So many nights,and Punch the walls). the guitar (as one the previous albums)is a masterpiece...showing true talent and well thought out music. Also the solos on this album are mind-blowing...especially on So many nights. The drums and bass are incredible and keep the tracks well-bound and extremely tight. My personal favorites on this album have to be So many nights, Battle Lines, Punch the walls, and possibly the best song on the album...In the heart on the wolves. I can not wait for another album release...i am left with very high expectations. I see bright things in this bands future.

Musically diverse,

For those of you who are into mainstream and don't have a diverse musical influence, I don't recommend this album. Previous E. Town Concrete albums have stuck mainly to hard core rock, with a few exceptions of hip hop influence. But this album really encompasses their broad musical influences. This album contains hard core riffs, rap, hip hop, and a lot of that unique ETC sound that's a really relaxed (or badass) guitar lead. As much as I love E. Town's previous albums, this one covers all your genres, so to speak. If you're into E. Town just for the hard core, maybe you should consider their other albums. I most definitely recommend this album and to see them live!

Awesome Band,,,Really Nice Guys,
This review is from: Renaissance (Audio CD)
Being that this Band is from Elizabeth NJ, it is impressive that they are hardcore. Anyone who knows the area knows what I mean. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Dave (guitar) at a local bar the other night. Very cool chill guy. It is a shame they never hit it big time like they should have. Well, here is hoping for a reunion sometime soon.

My opinion of this cd is that its different. I wouldnt say its horrible, but like one person said they've grown. Ive been listening to Etown for years. When i first starting listening to them in 96'there sound was SO different, and now its almost like its another band. F$ck the world was amazing, the second coming was good, and this album is okay.
