Product Description

Two brothers...one star ascending to the heights of fame and fortune, the other star descending into the depths of hell.
One country on the brink of total chaos.
James McCreath's thrilling novel "RENALDO" relates the saga of three generations of the De Seta Family of Buenos Aires.
From the sweeping plains of the Pampas to the corridors of power in the capital city, the story follows young soccer prodigy Renaldo De Seta as he strives to make Argentina's 1978 World Cup team.
As a result of saving the life of wealthy lawyer Astor Gordero, Renaldo is drawn into the web of intrigue spun by the most influencial man in the country.
He is given a tryout with the national soccer team, and meets his future love interest, Simone Yvonne Montana Carta Aqua.
"Symca," as she is known, is the nation's number one pop sensation, and a client of Astor Gordero.
At the same time, Renaldo's older brother, Lonfranco, has fallen under the erotic spell of a Montonero terrorist, posing as a university tutorial instructor.
Lonfranco casts aside his Gucci lifestyle to follow his lover into a vastly different and dangerous phase of his life.
There is a universal resonance of faith, hope and passion in McCreath' epic, whether he is writing about the individual characters, or an entire nation of people.
Diligent reseach, astute political observation, and the dedication of a zealous sports fan make "RENALDO" a page turning experience you will not want to put down.

About the Author

There is a song on the airwaves by the band Rascal Flatts entitled “Life is a Highway.” The image that comes to mind is one of a hot little convertible on wide open road, sun on your face, wind in your hair, peddle to the metal, soaking up life’s journey. The reality is that life’s highway also includes winding curves, detours, dead-ends, minor accidents and even tragic fatalities. I was fortunate to be able to cruise along for the first twenty years of my life, until I drove head on into a tragic fatality. The sudden death of my mother sent me off on the back roads, which were full of detours and dead-ends. I spent several years hoping I would find the open road again. It was the love I found when I had my own family, a beautiful wife and two daughters, that put me back on the freeway. For eleven years there was hardly a bump or a pothole in the smooth blacktop. Then slowly, ever so slowly, our route became more perilous. Unimaginable obstructions were found in our path, until around one particular blind curve, we lost our dear wife and mother. To find out how my daughters and I managed to find the expressway to happiness after this tragedy, please visit my website, www.renaldo.com. Thank you. James McCreath

Welcome Renaldo Readers March 27, 2007
Format:Paperback
Hello, my name is James McCreath, and I am the author of 'Renaldo.' Thank you for your interest in my novel. It is my hope that 'Renaldo' will give you hours of excitement and pleasure. Renaldo is ultimately a love story, and has been recently described in the press as "stunningly authentic," 'brimming with excitement and inner truths," "gorgeously written and full of hairpin twists and turns," "a champion read and a bold exploration of the nature of hope."
