5.0 out of 5 stars Rock and Roll Soul, January 30, 2002

Jimmy Hall always out does himself in his music and performances. This album is great foot stomping rock and roll. I wore out a pair of sandals on Delbert's blues cruise listening to him. His performances have the fever of a tent revival down south in the summer time. He is a great musician, performer, and an alright guy. It is shame he can not get any air play in this era of plastic radio formats! If you ever have the chance to see him live do not pass it up, in the meantime buy the CD.

A great set from one of the most intense live performers in the world! If you ever get the chance to see him before he starts slowing down(& according to my friends in B'ham Al who just saw him that won't be soon)get your tickets early. I've seen him a few times & ,let me tell you, you're exhausted after the show!

Never saw Jimmy live before the Delbert Cruise...was so very glad I saw him and have been listening to his album and playing it regularly in my club. People stop me and ask me "who is that?" and I go through the entire Wet Willie scenario and then give them the name of the album! ONE OF MY FAVORITES!

I got to see Jimmy on Delbert's Blues Cruise (the best kept secret in music). Jimmy's performances are like a religious experience. This is one bad dude whether on sax, harp, or vocals. He is doing what he likes to do and shows it!!!

I just saw him Live in Atlanta last Friday night, and he has himself a new Fan for sure.

Jimmy has talent to burn, and then some. How this man can sing and sing and sing for hours, without falling over dead from the sheer passion and emotion of it all - is beyond me.

Buy ANYTHING Jimmy does - and if have any chance to go see him Live - RUN, do not walk!!!

Jimmy, you are amazing, and we thank you for sharing your God-given talents with us!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jimmy hall sings the blues, October 17, 2011
This review is from: Rendezvous with the Blues (Audio CD)
I bought this CD after I was restocking some old music and wanted a Wet Willie CD with Keep On Smilin. I discovered Jimmy Hall, lead singer was still alive and well and had a couple of new CDs out. I really like this CD and about a year after I bought it Jimmy Hall showed up near me in Thomson GA for the Blind Willie Blues Festival. It was a fantastic day, Jimmy Hall and the Prisoners of Love performed. Jack Pearson who plays guitar on this CD was there and they made a great team. Even better to hear Rendezvous with the Blues live on a hot Georgia day in the middle of basically a well groomed cow pasture. At 62 he can still belt it out and sounds better live than on records. I am a total fan and have purchased anything I can find with his music on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Of Rock and Blues Finest Entertainers, July 2, 2002

I have seen Jimmy Hall perform with Wet Willie 13 times and I never left a show not feeling like I got way more than my money's worth.
I have been fortunate to meet and talk with Jimmy severals time and he's just a humble and down to earth guy.Do a search on a good search engine... and type in Jimmy Hall, Wet Willie and you will be shocked at just how many great musicians he has worked with throughout his career. They all admire and respect him . You country fans will delight in the fact that he works with Hank Williams Jr. several months a year and with many other artists including the best band in America, Wet Willie. I have seen Led Zepplin live, ZZtop, and countless others over the last 30 years but I can honestly say that I'd rather see Jimmy Hall any day. He has the energy level of a man much younger than 53 by a long shot.Do yourself a favor and catch the next performance of this great musician. I promise you will not be dissipointed.
