Big book for a little price,
By Colin Athens (Atlanta) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rendezvous: Masterpieces from the Centre Georges Pompidou and the Guggenheim Museums (Paperback)
I recently picked this up at the Guggenheim, and it's one of my favorite books I have on 20th-century art.Pros: Encompasses some of the more obscure pieces from the artists Cheap, cheap price ($10 at the Guggenheim for the paperback) Not text-heavy, but the intro text is definitely worth reading Minimalist layout Cons: Very heavy, but is still suitable for a coffee table or an entertainment center For such a heavy book, the cover could be a little thicker I have never seen the hardcover version of this, and I am most certain paperback is the only option Some of the more notable pieces come from: Cezanne, Matisse, Picasso, Delaunay, Kupka, Leger, Duchamp, Brancusi, Malevich, Kandinsky, Klee, Mondrian, Ernst, Magritte, Dali, Giacometti, Miro, Calder, Pollock, Rothko, de Kooning, Lichtenstein, Rauschenberg, Johns, Warhol, Kline |
