American Map Inc. still has a lot to do...,

There are two atlases for the Reno area. The American Map Reno / Carson City from 2009 and the Thomas Guide / Rand McNally Reno & Tahoe (first edition 2006, 2nd will be released probably late 2009). The Thomas Guide is much better. Why? Well especially because of the coverage. They both cover Reno, Sparks & Carson City. However the Thomas Guide covers also all major and many minor resorts around all coasts of Lake Tahoe as well as the city of Truckee, CA. The American Map covers only a few resorts on the Nevada side, and nothing in California. So even now, though the Thomas Guide is older it's more worth it if you travel around the area, and when the Thomas Guide will be in it's second edition, this atlas will be almost useless probably.
