Is this a possibility? There are quite a few posts and blog discussions I've found regarding the ability to access online libraries using Kindle Fire and renting books through the libraries. I can't see how this is a possiblity, but if it's true, I most definitely do not want to miss out on this opportunity!

Yes! Go to your library's website and they should have an e-library or media section where you can "check out" books. When you choose a book to borrow, it instantly takes you to your Amazon account to download. Don't know how it works but it's great!
