I've been having BV constantly, idk why....I am tired of having to go to the doctor all the time so I searched for something that would get rid of the fishy odor and this worked so well. I dont smell anything at all anymore and I am able to walk past someone or sit next to someone without thinking they can smell it. I pride myself on personal hygiene and with BV no matter how much you wash you cant get rid of the smell, but with this product NO SMELL:)

I'm an RN. I've been having issues with mild BV, and I read that lowering your pH could help discourage bad bacteria from growing and allow the Lactobacilli to flourish. So, this product sounded promising. Like I siad, the BV was mild. A very light smell, a small, thin, clear discharge. Mild enough that my regular MD missed it just a few weeks ago during a routine pelvic exam, and it wasn't until my husband spoke up that I knew there was a problem.

Immediately after using this product the first time, like other reviewers, I thought I had developed a yeast infection. No smell, but thick, white, chunky discharge. It was disgusting! Lasted two days. What really sucks is that I wasn't prepared for it to happen, and I had used RePhresh, figured everything was fine, and it was during the middle of sex that my husband was like "Babe, I think you have a yeast infection." I wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

But, I read the reviews, and figured it was "just" epithelial cells and that it would go away. I tried using it two more times, on schedule (every 4 days). By the third time, the discharge was worse then every, now it was burning, odorus, and when I went to scoop some of it out and wiped it on toilet paper to look at it, it was freaking GREEN. So I said SCREW THIS. These are NOT epithelial cells. That theory doesn't really even make sense in the first place...at least not in the large quantities that most people are talking about.

Luckily, I did some more reading, and I finally ran across a method that DOES work. It's cheap, it's natural, it's not messy, and it's been proven through multiple medical trials (check E-Pub, for starters). It's Vitamin C. Get the plain, ascorbic acid kind, with no other ingredients, and no dyes. I use 500 mg.

I love this product! I've had a lifetime problem of frequent urinary tract infections that often require prophylactic antibiotics to prevent. Of course antibiotics lead to yeast infections and treating yeast infections leads to bacterial vaginosis (at least for me). I was CONSTANTLY treating either yeast or BV, and I do mean CONSTANTLY. It really put a serious crimp in my sex life, who wants to have sex with messy creams up there? Even when I had a month without an infection as soon as I would get my period the alkaline environment would tip the pH balance in favor of yet another BV infection. I frequently recommend this product to my patients.

Like yeast, gardnerella are naturally occurring in the vagina but can overgrow if pH is off. I've found that using repHresh gel 2-3 times a month, sometimes more, has solved my problem. One of my biggest triggers for BV was starting my period, now I use the repHresh Brilliant tampons, and together with the gel, it has solved the problem. My regimen now consists of an occasional antibiotic after particularly vigorous sex (likely to cause a UTI for me) and an applicator full of repHresh. I will note that if you have a full blown BV or yeast overgrowth this will not cure it but may make it more comfortable until you can get to the doctor. I use it to keep it from ever getting to that place at all. I've found with a very mild itch or odor I can reverse the issue, but not if it's full blown.

Also of note, you WILL get a clumpy transparent whitish discharge, sometimes quite copious. I've read that this will diminish over time with frequent use but since I don't need to use the product all that often I still notice it. It's not attractive during sex.

This works fantastic. I have issues with odor because of my body's reaction to my copper IUD and this keeps me fresh as a daisy. Nobody knows and it and it doesn't cause any mess at all. It's a dream come true for me - I was so embarrassed walking around before. I just wish it lasted longer.

I really wanted to like this product.... it keeps the odors out completely but it's a temporary thing ant if you used it constantly it might actually make some improvement in the your condition but it's too expensive. I've found that vaginal vitamin c tablets work wonders, so much better than this product.

This product was recommended by my gynecologist to prevent a yeast infection while taking an antibiotic. Amazon has the cheapest price. I've passed that information on to my doctor's office so he can tell his other patients.

Tried this gel because I'm prone to bv. Antibiotics would help however I would develop a yeast infection afterwards. I did an online search and found out about the Rephresh vaginal gel and thought I would give it a try. I'm so glad that I did. I instantly feel fresh down there and my bv goes away. I use it right after my period or after having sex with my boyfriend sometimes. The only dilemma with this gel is that it can be a little messy so I put it in at night before I go to bed. Use a panty liner as well, because as your ph is balanced back and your vagina is doing its little clean u there, you'll discharge a bit and the gel clumps up and mixes with the old cells and stuff being washed out of your vagina. It'll looked like scrambled eggs - no joke! There is no odor and you shouldn't freak out. It washes off without any problems. It's just your vagina getting balanced and cleaned. The eggy stuff shouldn't last more than 1-2 days. But DO wear a panty liner throughout the day.

Make sure you visit your doctor if you suspect you have a vaginal infection. The two most common types of vaginal infections are bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections. Nearly half of all vaginal infections are classified as bacterial vagiosis, while about 29% are classified as yeast infections. It is common for women to mistake one for the other.
Bacterial vaginosis generally results in an excessive grayish white vaginal discharge and a bothersome "fishy odor" which can be worse after sexual intercourse. Many people describe the discharge as yogurt-like or pasty.
Yeast infections can be very uncomfortable. Symptoms generally include itching and burning in the vagina and around the vulva, a white vaginal discharge that may look like cottage cheese, pain during sexual intercourse, and swelling of the vulva.
