This contains DEET. If you fear chemicals, like Di-hydrogen Monoxide (google it!) then its is not for you.

In "mosquito cage tests" (google it too!), DEET-containing products outperform everything else. (Eucalyptus oil helps somewhat; citronella a little, but DEET is way more effective. I've actually looked through a few peer-reviewed journal articles and other test reports (and read several consumer articles), and would summarize as follows: Compared to biting in a couple hours given no protection, sound-emitting devices offer no protection, eucalyptus oil results in about 50% less biting, citronella ~ 25% less, and DEET ~ 95% less. You can't do a realistic "mosquito cage test" of a bug zapper but I'd say they result in very roughly 25% less biting.

If you're looking for the most effective mosquito repellent, you want a product with a high concentration of DEET, like this stuff, and this product was the best value around when I shopped around looking for bug repellent with DEET.
