I used this product in the jungle in Belize for 7 weeks this past May-June, one bottle lasted the whole session and did an amazing job of keeping the insects off...highly recommended!

My Husband and I went to a Farm Dinner in Boulder, CO in the middle of mosquito season. I bought this Repel Sportsmen Max Deet Lotion at Target as a "just in case" back up. The OFF spray the farm provided didn't help at all! But this lotion, you'd literally see a mosquito land on us, then jump off immediately within seconds -- The whole table of 35 people ended up passing it around. WE WERE SAVED!!!

- Not a strong odor (unlike the spray)
- Lotion doesn't last 10 hrs but long enough to relax and reapply about 3 or 4 hrs later
- OK to put on face
- OK on clothes -- Just rub it on your palms before applying to clothing (It didn't leave any stains or ruin the material when we did that at the Farm Dinner)

It's an outstanding product, I used this and another product on a trip to South Dakota and never once had a single bug touch me, what I really love about this is the climbers clasp attached to it, you can rig it to you anywhere, and after it's used just remove the clasp and you have a key ring!

Good value, function and recycling all in one.
I think you could do allot worse than this right here.
If you're planing a trip and need to kick the bugs off your turf "body", I say go for it, the stuff may need to be rubbed on, but there's no chance of failure like there is with a pump bottle.

I used this repellent at the end of May in Louisiana. My friends got bitten profusely, and I didn't even have a scratch.

I get bitten a lot and also am allergic to bites, so am always looking for something strong enough to protect me.

This product actually smells quite pleasant, is a cream so does not dry out your skin, and 100% actually works. I also didn't have to reapply once I'd put it on in the evenings.

I would say it doesn't last too long as it's quite a small bottle, but it can probably be put on more sparsely than I did.

I read all these reviews and purchased this for my daughter and I to use when we went to the poconos for a week. The first day we did not put anything on and took a walk...big mistake. came back and we got eaten up by horse flys. We then learned from out mistake and put on this product. You do not need a lot it is very strong and last all day. We did not get bit once and when we were in trails in the woods insects flew towards us but always swerved away. we did not have one insect even on our clothes was great. Just need to remember when you get back take a shower, you need to wash this stuff off can not let that sit..again another mistake I learned from...lol. Great product will purchase again when I am done with this no question.

Bought this for a 2 week trip to Thailand and it worked great. The bottle was small enough to carry in my purse and the lotion has almost no odor.

Used this during my summer trip to several South East Asian countries (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos...). We did quite a bit of outdoors hiking, especially in heavily forested regions, and some of the regions were known to have malaria-carrying mosquitoes. I was recommended this by a friend who spent time in the Amazon, and I'm glad I took his advice. Compared to my tripmates who had the aerosol sprays (even the "outdoors" stuff), I was not bitten at all where the lotion was applied, which was great since it's such a pain to wear long-sleeves and long pants in the humidity. The mosquitoes will still try to bite through clothes, and though I think the lotion had a repelling effect, I'm going to coat my clothes in permethrin next time.

Lotion dried well, wasn't greasy, didn't cause any break outs, so I don't think I'll be switching back to the spray even now that I'm back home.

Bought this product with anticipation of going fishing. Unfortunately unable to go. Loaned product to my friends. Said of the Deet products, this one kept the mosquitos at bay most effectively. Guess they used it all. Adding to my shopping cart as we speak...

Product worked great keeping the mosquitoes away however it isn't scent free for hunting. The smell is very strong. Keep that fact in mind when purchasing

I bought this product specifically to repel biting mites that have invaded my home and vehicles. It works for maybe an hour for mites. Unfortunately, products with deet that are effective for mosquitoes and ticks are not as effective for repelling biting mites.
