About the Author

Pinchas Peli (1930-1989) was professor of Jewish Thought and Literature at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Educated in Jerusalem yeshivot, he received academic degrees at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and in the United States, completing his doctorate studies with Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel as his mentor.

This work is a pioneering one in bringing the teaching of the Rav before the world. It has been followed by many other works of the Rav's teaching but still remains a valuable one on the subject of 'Teshuvah'.
