5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most brilliant noise/metalcore albums there is, June 27, 2002

I can't understand how I am the first person to write a review for this glowing piece of beautiful music. Maharahj is a very sadly now defunct Candadian band who penned music not too far off from Dillinger Escape Plan but to my ears they sound a bit more chaotic, moreso on this album then their first one. Their first album (Chapter One: The Descent) is very much worth checking out but it was with this that they exhibit their total mastery over their genre and milk it for all it's worth. There is a bit of glut of metalcore out there these days but I see that as positive so long as the bands are good even if they aren't the most original. Maharahj don't really sound quite like anyone else though, too chaotic for the most part, but there are structures to these songs and like the name suggests there is some repetition as well. Nothing as much as Keelhaul does but they don't jump on the noisecore bandwagon of never repeating any part of a song, or any one combination of chords/notes in a particular song. If you love metalcore and it's noisecore subgenre then you must own everything this wonderful band has created. This isn't so much a suggestion as me bluntly accusing you of severe stupidity and blindness for not listening to these guys.
