Used with IBM Thinkpad T43. Model 1871-xxx

it fits, but BARELY. It is slightly bigger and the edges do not fit flush.

battery life about >2 hrs with light internet surfing.

I purchased this battery to replace a toasted T41 battery. I am surprised at the life I get out of my T41 running Ubuntu 9.04.

With other laptops I usually keep my power supply close by for when my battery dies abruptly (i.e. it says 10 minutes and the next moment "I am shutting down messages").

This battery has been running great. I have not had the sudden power drops like described above. 10 minutes is 10 minutes give or take. It fit perfect and has run flawless to date. An easy choice for anyone needing a replacement on a T41 (T2374151).

This battery extended the portable use of my old Thinkpad T43 laptop to 2 and 3/4 hours. My old battery couldn't do better than 1 and 1/2 hours. Older laptops normally do not have the duration that newer ones have with their extended-life batteries, but the boost I got from this one suits me just fine. Replacing my old one was a snap since this fit into the battery chamber perfectly. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

I ordered a replacement battery for a ThinkPad T43. The first one arrived swollen and would not fit. They promptly sent another and paid for shipping to return the bad battery. All in all good service.

I bought this as a replacement for my OEM battery. To my surprise this battery dies with in a week. I got it as new from Amazon listing, not sure if they cheated me. But the end result is waste of money and time. No more items from this seller for sure.

Just received my battery for an IBM T43 computer. It fit fine and the computer recognized the new battery with no issues. It came charged at about 63% and said it would take a little over an hour to fully charge. At a current 88% charge remaining it's saying that I have 2:14 minutes of power, so I'm estimating that it's maybe 2:45 when fully charged, which is about what I got from the original battery when this five year old laptop was new. So far I'm pleased with the quality for the price. Shipping was pretty fast even with super saver.

I purchased this battery as a replacement for a Thinkpad T42 I was giving to a friend. I used it for a week or so prior to sending the notebook off and was impressed with the battery life. So far, my friend enjoys the battery life and has had no problems with it at all. Seems like a great purchase thus far, but it is still early in the battery's life.

Great battery. Works very well with my T40. My previous battery was getting worse and worse so I decided that after 5 years, it was time for a new one. Product came very quickly and I'm very satisfied with it overall. I have been using it for over a month now.

As soon as I received it worked perfectly for a friend of mine's Thinkpad T40. I was needing this part to repair it. No problem at all.

Not much to say other than it works as advertised. It's an exact replacement for the OEM battery. I've been getting about 2.5 hours per charge while using my T43 on the internet using a wifi connection. That seems to be a reasonable amount of time for this battery on my laptop.

If there is a downside it is that the drain rate becomes non-linear near the end of the charge. I've found it to be linear down to 20%. But you will want to safe and shutdown at 10% as the charge depletes quickly past that point.
