I was pleased I could find a replacement motor for the power vent in my home. It would have been expensive to replace the entire unit. Amazon made locating one easy. I received it within two days and installed it immediately. It is operating perfectly. I was pleased with the quick delivery.

Appreciated the fast delivery of this fan. This blade was the exact replacement needed to get the cooling system operational. The original fan had cracks between each blade that wore out the motor bearings, since it ran out of balance. Locally the motor was available but the blade was not. Thanks again for the guick service.

Initially, I used an allen key to tighten the set screw. Then I heard the blade start to rub on the attic fan housing. Luckily I was in the attic and immediatedly turned off the fan. I uninstalled the motor and blade assembly. Even though I had tighted the set screw as hard as possible with an allen key, the blade came loose. Make sure to use a socket wrench with an allen socket to tight the set screw for this fan blade. Since I retighted the set screw, my fan has been running fine for weeks. In addition, make sure you install this fan blade so the air moves in the correct direction.

Instead of going onto the 2 story roof, I decided to just replace the motor and blades (really recommend replacing blades as the set screw is impossible to release). Easy to install both together though I wish I had kept my old motor and blade assembly as a reference to which side of the blades was the up side.
It does take two people to install the fan as it's heavy - one to hold the fan while the other person attaches the screws the the brackets of the old metal brackets or belt. Reattaching the electric is a piece of cake. Ps...even females can do this if you're handy. The product was delivered promptly and as described.

When I ordered the replacement motor and installed the old fan blades, they were noisy. The replacement part was delivered very quickly and installed easily and made no noise or wobble at all. As I've said before, what more could I ask for in my line of work?

Early Blade Failure,

I purchased this replacement blade from RSC, West Monroe, La and installed it with the assistance of my roofer, Carl Carroll of Winnsboro. It was put into service last week and worked great. Very quiet and smooth and moved the air out nicely. However after a couple of days of operation I noticed a light "ticking" sound. Less than 24 hours later it failed completely. The blades tore completely away from the hub. The blades appear to have "work hardened" and failed due to hairline cracks beginning at heel of the blade, thence moving inward in the direction of the hub. Once the cracks reached the hub the blade assembly completely tore away from its hub and lay at rest as the motor turned, quietly doing nothing (air-wise that is). This may be from a bad batch of blade stampings. However, I would be interested in hearing if others have had such a problem. Secondly, since this blade cost less than $20, is there a heavier duty version that I can acquire. Respectfully, David Furr
