Save your money. In the long run, last as long as OEM battery., June 10, 2010
This review is from: Replacement Extended Battery for BlackBerry 8800 / 8800c / 8800r with Battery Door - Black (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I purchased a the exact same battery for my 8300 BB Curve from SF planet via Amazon back in 10/19/2009 (still have the receipt), this battery worked well at first, lots of juice for long periods of time. I didn't mind the extra big back cover that I now had to sport in order to use the new battery since it did it's job, I don't care how it looked. Fast forward April 2010, phone starts to shut off for no reasons and the only way to turn it on is to plug it in. "Is it the battery or the phone?" Well it's the battery, this was the same problem I was having back in October 2009 when I decided to buy a new and "better" battery for my Blackberry. So forget about some of the features stated for this product, it doesn't live up: Longer battery life than the original battery that comes with the device (true, based on daily usage basis, but when it comes to long term, this battery didn't even make the two year mark of my OEM smaller BB battery.) # No memory effect. Can be charged or discharged as needed without loss of capacity. (not exactly sure what this means since I cannot locate a discharge button anywhere, even if that's what they are talking about).# Overcharge protection, with built-in battery life microchip. (Again, no idea what they are talking about, don't feel any chip any where, just an oversize battery and as for the over charged protection, well, if that really worked I don't think I would be wasting time complaining about this product with this review - and in reviewing the terms of the warranty on the product insert - how nice for Cameron Sino to state that does not cover "memory effect, overcharge" yet these two of the product's main features, you're so confident in the product and it's feature that you don't even cover it?).# CE Certified with 6 months Manufacturer warranty. (how convenient the warranty ends almost to date of my six month mark as the product fails in operation. I know, I don't expect any manufacturer to cover their product forever, six months is pretty long, but how interesting the products fails to do it's job right when the warranty is up - from a consumer P.O.V.; it's bad, from a Manufacturer's P.O.V.; what great timing!) In any even stay away unless you would like a $20 paper weight (not even a good paper weight at that) after 6 months like me.
