according to the Bodum website ([...]) they seem to size their french presses with two different "cup" sizes -
a "US cup" is 8oz, and a "european cup" is 4oz, so you can at least use the Bodum website to find the model number for the correct size for your press, then just search for that model number on Amazon and you're all set.

yes, it would be nice if the listings were in better shape to start with, but hopefully the info above will help someone out.

The descriptions of these replacement beakers is inconsistent and make ordering a challenge. Some confuse U.S. and European cups while others list "ounces." Total capacity in ounces should be listed as well as dimensions in inches. If a customer has broken his or her beaker that information may not be available so the Bodum product numbers should also be provided. All this information is available on the Bodum website but is hard to transpose elsewhere. As it is, if a mistake is made the customer must pay the postage for the return as well as for any followup order. In the meantime your otherwise excellent press is "beakerless" and unusable.

It is impossible to know whether these glass carafes are the correct size for replacements without knowing the number of ounces they hold. The cups are an arbitrary volume that is specific to some standard that I am not familiar with, and therefore I had to guess at which "cup" size would be the same as my known 20 oz. press pot. 8 cups as it turns out is a 32 oz size, but I never see "6-cup" pots advertised so I had to return these. Making a random guess on-line sucks, has taken more time and cost me money and I still do not have what I needed. But it is really tough to find 20 oz carafes so I took my chance...oh well.

I believe this replacement glass, made by Bodum, is better than the original in that it is at least 1/3 thicker and thus more durable. The fit is the same.

As other reviewers have indicated, the sizing can be confusing, so check Bodum's site for precise dimensions, then note the "bodum #" (in this case it is 1508-10). That number will coincide with Amazon's "item model number".

Although the product arrived in tip top condition, and the correct size. It took forever using the ground shipping!

I quickly received my shipment - and although the sales slip had the right item - they sent the wrong item - a smaller version. I quickly called them up - they told me to keep that one and they would ship out the correct one - which took about 3 weeks to get......I had sent a 2nd email to them but got no response.
The store does not have a phone number on their receipt so you have to email and can't call.

Happily I got what I ordered finally. I give the item a 5 star - but the service I give a 3.

This is a very good replacement product and the price was right! It fit perfectly and that was important.I highly recommend this product.

The glass breaks easy. I have to keep replacing the glass replacement beaker about every 6 months. I feel like I'm pretty careful, but they still break. I don't use a metal spoon, etc. Be careful!

These break so easily; I'm on my 3rd one in 9 months. But I love my stainless carafe french press holder, so will keep ordering them when they crack.

Worked well. Just the same thing as the original that i bought this to replace.
