If you get the genuine Epson replacement bulb (sold and fulfilled by Amazon) then you are getting the right item (and it is five stars rating-quality). But please be very careful though if you are purching this from any of the third party sellers. You will get a cheaper knockoff that does not work as well as the Epson made bulb. I own thirteen projectors and buy a lot of these bulbs (twenty-six per year). I have NEVER had a knockoff work as well as the genuine Epson bulb. The way the Amazon system works is that it often offers up the cheapest third party bulb and you have to click on the link showing the other sellers to find a genuine Espon bulb. Amazon should really require the third parties to clarify that they are NOT selling the Epson-made bulb.

The bulb in our 4-year-old Epson projector finally burned out. We use it for a couple of hours almost every night, and the kids watch movies on it a lot during the weekends. Our previous projector used bulbs that were $350-$400 to replace, so it was a joy to see that these are so much less expensive. The fact that they are so bright is a wonderful plus. Installation was a snap and we had our projector back up and running in just minutes.

I'm sticking with Epson projectors from now on, I couldn't be happier!

Our projector lamp light came on and we ordered this product and replaced it in easily with everything working properly. A few days later the light came on again and the projector did not work, we took the lamp and put it back in immediately and now it works fine. We did the same thing a different projector, of the same model, which we had not ordered a new lamp, it also works again. Wished we had tried this before when spent the money on a new one. But... if you do really need a new lamp, this product came as shown and in a timely manner.

The bulb this one replaced was only about 18 months old. Hopefully this is not indicative of normal wear and tear. This projector was used in our training room.

I bought this product because it was less than half the price of the other sellers, and assumed, based on the description, that it was manufactured by Epson. That turned out to be incorrect, but I have no problems with its performance. It seems to be just as bright as the original lamp, and has worked with heavy usage for at least two weeks now. In short, It is worth the price difference.

The lamp asm came in a very well packed box with return information for the old asm.
I was so surprised that it arrived in 3 days instead of the 8 days projected.
The lamp asm is not EPSON but is working now as good as the original.

Used this for an Epson EX-71. Picture isn't that bright and it makes a strange clicking sound. It almost sounds like a fan clicking, but I have checked everything, it's definitely the lamp. When it changes colors drastically, it makes a sound. The light, as another reviewer mentioned, does go in and out intermittently. It's one of those things where you can't notice it maybe, but once you do, it's all you notice. The supplier said that it's a gamble since it's OEM. It works superbly for some projectors but not for others. They did offer the cost of this lamp going toward a factory made one - if I wanted to purchase it. I doubt it will last 5000 hours but I also don't want to spend $150 on a new lamp, so I'm sticking with it. If you can look past the cons, then this may work for you. If I had to do it all over again, I probably wouldn't buy this though.

Just got my replacement lamp, first I was confused because the sender was not from epson, and I thought I was buying it from epson...but I guess it was from a third party in smaller print hiding somewhere, it works, so that's good, but when I followed the instructions and clicked reset projector it only said 1800 hours, and the lamp is advertised at 5,000 hours....I guess only time will tell, but the positive is that for 30 plus or minus dollars I got a new lamp that's working and I didn't have to replace my 500 dollar projector. I remember when the bulbs where a couple hundred bucks so this is worth the risk I guess. It works just we will see for how long. I do not appreciate the false advertisement on this product.
