This power adapter is sold as "90 watts", but my dell detects it as "70 watts" and will not let me run full speed. This power adapter is useless!!!

Alright. The Dell Latitude D620 was given to me by Sprint to demonstrate the EVDO internet (which is GREAT!) in our sprint store [.....]. Regardless, in six months the battery was shot, another month the charger. So from Amazon, I found this replacement, and got it in a few days at a price 1/10th what Dell wanted (naturally, warranty had expired, same story they said with the battery). I am completely happy with the transaction (price, delivery, etc.) and even more happy with adapter...it works! So if you have to have a Dell, be thankful for Amazon for parts.

This product does what it needs to do as far as voltage. The downside being what you would expect from an off brand power adapter. It fits in the laptop, but it is a loose fit and tends to fall out.

I purposely waited 2 months to see how this worked and so far I have been pleasantly surprised with how well this works! The battery charges just about the same time it took with the DELL adapter or may be even faster, the laptop runs well both charged on battery or plugged in. So fat it has been an excellent buy.
I should note a good point about this one as well vs the one from DELL, I used to get frequent sparks at the plug when I plugged in the DELL adapter (may be thats why it does not work anymore), no such thing with this one. Works perfectly from day 1.

I have had this charger for just over 9 months now and its still performing the way it did the day I got it. Seems like we have a winner here..!

Seemed to work fine... charged laptop fully. Unplugged it and used the laptop for a bit. Went back to plug it in, no longer charges. The light on the adaptor doesn't light and the laptop doesn't recognize it. Hard to believe it fried after 1 use. Returning it.

I bought a replacement charger for my Dell Inspiron 9300. Their cheap, generic, Chinese made piece of garbage fried the motherboard on my laptop. If I could have rated it no stars I would have. Their deceiving picture for the product made it look like it was a real Dell charger, when in fact it was a cheaply made piece of crap. I never got a response to my complaint except for the refund of my purchase. That did nothing for my $1400 laptop that is now a $1400 paperweight. I will never purchase anything from this seller again, and will pass along this info on facebook. What frauds.

I bought one of these four months ago. It was always a little looser than the OEM plug, but it worked fine until recently. Now it refuses to make contact and charge the computer. Likely a bad solder or crimp in the plug, but really no way to fix it, so I'm back to shop for a different brand.

I purcahsed this adapter under pressure because my second power cord that I purchased as a "replacement" from Dell - had completely conked out. I refused to pay $60 to dell for another failed cord. So I'm thinking...what could I lose with purchasing one at such a low price ($16.95) since it seems they only last about 2 years these days. WELLLLLLLL.......yesterday in the middle of a therapy session the battery indicator icon came on even though the cord was plugged into a power outlet. The light from the adapter flashed on and off intermittantly and then it got extremely hot and DIED. I purchased this on 9/29/09 - began using it on 10/2/09(???) and this is where I am today with this purchase - NO WHERE - except on the computer ordering another one from a reputable dealer WITH a WARRANTY.

DO NOT purchase this product if you are looking for LONGEVITY - it will give you enough juice for about 2 months and then its DONE!!!

It can't even charge the battery, so the battery runs down to 0 and if there is ever a power interruption the computer blacks out in the bad way. Now the power is cutting out at random times, because this thing is a piece of junk, as mentioned in the title.

I purchased this product for my Dell Inspiron 700m to replace the original adapter that my cat kept chewing through and finally shorted out.

The first thing that I noticed is that while the AC power cord from the adapter to the wall outlet is the same length as my original adapter, the cord from the adapter to my laptop is about 2 feet shorter than the original. While the old adapter sat on the floor, this one dangles a bit off the floor -- which I'm not too crazy about -- and I had to purchase an extension cord to make up for the short reach to the wall outlet. I gave it four stars because of the short cord -- I would have given it 5 had the cord been as long as the original.

Otherwise, the device works just fine. And ironically, my cat hasn't chewed on it yet.
