Just received one as a gift. The instructions identify four pieces of hardware that come with it, but it comes with five. You get to guess which screws go where. Not to tough, but when I figured it out it still didn't tighten up. The screw thread inserts came out of the end of the dowell that forms the pillar between the pedestal and the globe. I could never get structural integrity with this thing.

And, it came pre-scratched and the base showed marks like somebody else had already tried to assemble it.

Maybe buy a used one instead.

The globe is beautiful, well constructed, and the relief/texturing adds interest. The support stand had a minor issue. The bolt that passes through the base is too long for how far it has to go into the receiving "female" end, which is embedded in a hole in the center of the shaft. This was easily solved by adding additional washers to the single supplied washer, to effectively shorten the bolt. It then made a solid base.

I'm highly satisfied with the purchase.

It is a nice large globe and we wanted it as a table globe. It can be used either as a table or floor globe. The embossed pattern of the mountains, etc, is attractive. The seller was responsive to a minor problem.

This is a beautiful globe and my 5 year old grandchild loved seeing where different countries were on it. Unfortunately, we had to constantly keep retightening the stem to the base, but it would not last because each time you turned the globe the base would become unscrewed from the stem and then the globe would start wobbling. We sadly had to return this globe.

Very nice addition to our decor. Nice to be able to just walk up and visualize what was just reported on the TV. Helps to put the report into prospective. Good quality and very easy to assemble.

Beautiful globe, attractive mount, but hopeless attachment of the former to the latter. The harp (which holds the circular metal ring around the globe) has a fixed screw which goes into a threaded insert in the wooden column. Herein lies the problem. Twisting the harp counterclockwise unscrews it, making the globe flop; twisting it clockwise easily produces enough torque to pull the threaded insert right out of the wooden column. Now it can flop right to the floor! My solution (admittedly a complicated one) was to cut a notch in the wooden column wide enough to accommodate the metal harp (so the harp can't move without carrying the base with it), then epoxy the screw and insert into the stripped-out hole. Replogle, just bought out by Cram, needs to fix this problem.

This was exactly as it appeared to be on the site and I am glad I purchased it - it arrived on time and was well-received by the person for whom it was purchased.
