5.0 out of 5 stars 15 Reproducible Write & Read Books, June 24, 2000
This review is from: 15 Reproducible Write-and-Read Books (Grades K-2) (Paperback)
This was my first year teaching formally, as I have also raised 2 children. I found this book to be very resourceful by giving me the tools & ideas I need to help teach my Pre-K's the basic steps & fun in reading! If you are a Pre-K or Primary teacher...THIS IS A MUST!

I find that these books are easy to copy because they require single-sided copies, and they cover a large variety of topics. However, they are large (8.5 x 11 folded in half lengthwise), hard to get folded into the same size to put together, and hard for my youngest students (PreK) to handle. Also, the writing component and critical thinking skills asked for are, in most of the books, too difficult for all but my first graders...

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Way to Promote Ownership in Language Arts, July 30, 2001

The best thing about this book is that it provides the students with the opportunity to express themselves! By providing a framework for ideas, students can spend more time and effort conveying the message of the mini-book. As a first grade teacher, I can't wait to use this book to enhance independent writing time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, July 8, 2002

This review is from: 15 Reproducible Write-and-Read Books (Grades K-2) (Paperback)
This book is excellent for teaching writing and self expression. It contains mini books for all levels. Some are easier and require students to fill in one or two words while others require more work. My first graders never know what to write when given a writing assignment. This book provides a base from which they can start.
