We bought this for our 2 and 1/2 year old and he loves it! If your child likes to chew on toys (toddlers obviously) this wouldn't be a good buy because he/she could easily chew parts of the snakes off. But otherwise this is so much fun for 2 and up. Our 4 year old daughter enjoys it too! The critters are a perfect size for little hands to hold and play with and both of our children have fun making up different scenarios for these reptiles.
