I met a nice fellow over the net named Gaston from Belgium who recommended Karrin to me.
Wow!!!! What a find, This lady has a gorgeous clear crisp wonderful voice...
I now own all of her albums but those that she sings completely in a foreign language in....
This is Eva Cassidy with her own style and great interpretations...
I would call her a Classic jazz singer and surely a diamond, not in the rough, but unfortunately she has been hiding from me all of these years when I could have been enjoying her.
Put her CD or CD's on and let them go.
She is Great!!!!!!!!!
Not much more that I can add other than if you love Eva Cassidy & Dianna Krall then I am sure you will love her to.
They are all different,the only thing different between the three is they all have their own style and sing Classic Jazz vocals,
This is a great generation of Jazz for all of us.
Put her in your collection, I sure don't regret it as I wear deep grooves in her CD's

La critique US est unanime : Karrin Allyson est indéniablement l'une des chanteuses de jazz les plus distinguées et magistrale d'aujourd'hui. Pour la toute première fois, la chanteuse présente un "best of" mettant en lumière les chansons qui prouvent exactement pourquoi elle est précisément considérée comme l'une des plus impressionnantes de sa génération.

Il est regrettable qu'Amazon France ne publie pas les extraits du disque. Sa voix est ample, aérée, sans minauderie absurde, ni miauleries de ces petites chanteuses qui ne savent pas tenir une note ; 13 chansons aussi belles les unes que les autres, dont "sous le ciel de paris " qui donne des frissons. Cocorico !

Je passe et repasse ce disque en boucle depuis son achat et je n'ai pas résisté à acheter d'autres albums. Je le mentionnerai.

Karrin Allyson est très bien entourée ; la production ne lésine pas sur les moyens et cela s'entend ! Franchement, pour moi, la grande découverte de 2009 !

I've slowly added all of Karrin's CD's to my collection. She is right up there among today's female jazz artists. A natural feel for the jazz classics which is obviously her passion including the bossa novas. This is a great introduction to Karrin's music. Start here and then keep adding all of her CDs.

As Sinatra would say- Allyson is a 'Gasser'! I learned of Allyson through Jonathan Schwartz. If you do not know who Jonathan Schwartz is than you have a deprived life.. Go get Sirius and keep it on Seriously Sinatra!

I look forward to giving Allyson a hug in DC in a couple weeks @ Blues Alley~

Karrin Allyson's best of by request album is an oft repeated stalwart of my music collection since my recent purchase. I first heard her on Real Jazz, Sirius XM, and got two of her albums as a sampler and they did not disappoint. Her voice is in the clear, contemporary style of many modern day jazz divas but she's got a great sense of the past and pays homage to many jazz women who have come before her. Think Ella, Dinah and Sarah through the lens of Diana Reeves and Nikki Yanofsky and you've got KA. The arrangements are cool and supportive and she sings sincerely in at least four languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. She mixes power, belt, ballads and novelty together in a superb mix of appraoches. A must buy for any true jazz fan! I'm listening to it right now and you should be, too.

I heard her sing the title song of a movie and loved her voice. I cant remember the name of it. That said, this CD didnt deliver. Her voice is superb - but you have to love slooowwwww jazz, nightclub music to appreciate it. You need to be a die-hard fan of the genre. If youre not, well, enough said.

I love how closely she sings - just quietly in your ear. ThisCD is gorgeous and I get a shivver just thinking about it.

This is absolutely wonderful! Great voice, great selections, great arrangements.
