GEORGE GLENN JONES was born in 1931 in the East Texas town of Saratoga. As a kid he sang for tips on the streets of nearby Beaumont. By age 24, he had been married twice, served in the Marines and was a veteran of the Texas honky-tonk circuit. My sister and I grew up listening to the cassette version of this album. Now that we're grown up, we wanted to find the songs again. Imagine our surprise when not all of the songs are on currently released CD's! Even buying two or three or more CD's we wouldn't have all the songs. Other copies of this CD are going for over $60 in some places, so this one was great and affordable!
