Jon Lucien is one of the very best romantic jazz vocalists ever yet he has never gotten the recognition and acclaim he deserves. This is his most intimate, heartfelt, soulful and sensual album to date and will forever show what a special singer Jon is. Buy it if only for "Hello Like Before".

I always liked Jon Lucien. My biggest regret is that I waited until his passing to buy one of his cds. But this cd so captures and reflects the wonderfulness that was Jon Lucien, the richness and undeniable quality-- so that in two notes you knew it was him singing. I love this cd.

The brilliance of this album blew me away so completely I had to force myself to play another disc! The new arrangements and new instrumentation were remakable! I don't want to use too many superalatives in my description of this recording but, quite simply it is a joy to listen too!

I tended to regard the late romantic soul crooner as primarily "for female consumption," probably because a woman acquaintance characterized him as a "jazz singer," and I couldn't hear the jazz (for that matter, I don't hear much jazz on those so-called "smooth" or "contemporary" jazz stations). But this guy gets under your skin after a while, especially when you see him not just as a crooner but a composer and creator of an exotic, Carribean-influenced soundscape (he often plays many of the instruments accompanying him). At times the accompaniment is overly thick and "synthesized" (the percussion sounding like drum machines), but this collection is, for the most part, a happy exception. If anyone has recorded a version of "Hello Like Before" to rival Nancy Wilson's, it's Jon Lucien.

This is very sensuous, romantic music. Swaying to the rhythmic sounds of island jazz, this entire cd mentally transports you and your lover to the Caribbean.

This CD is smooth as silk. Jon Lucien was the catalyst thirty five years ago for smooth jazz and this cd reflects his genius. A must have first class album!!

This CD like many of his music is romantic, sexy and expresses his feelings for women and life. Beautiful, just buy it.

YOU MUST HEAR IT AND COMPARE IT TO "SWEET CONTROL-THE BEST OF JON LUCIEN".

I brought the CD from another source at Amazon and it was like new. It took a little time to receive it, but it did get to me in the time frame that was specified. I like the way that Amazon works with you. If they do not have what you ordered, they will locate others who do? I like that!

This cd has all the songs that I love, but the older slower version is better.
