5.0 out of 5 stars Comment for all Megadeth Fans, October 19, 2007
By
Music lover "A fan" (Southern California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Requiem (Audio CD)
I read with displeasure the review of Requiem by other reviewers. They did state they were Megadeth fans and their fans are loyal and passionate of their Megadeth music. The Confession has been touring the country opening for Megadeth and, as one of the band member's parents, have heard first hand how wonderful Dave Mustaine and Megadeth has been to The Confession. But the fans were another story. They were rude, violent and totally unable to open up their minds to anything other than hearing Megadeth. Even Dave himself said to the guys in The Confession that they should be proud of being hand picked to open for Megadeth and he wished the fans would be respectful of their musical talent. If you love music and respect talent than give Requiem a listen - you won't be sorry.

5.0 out of 5 stars I think these guys are onto something...., October 25, 2007
By
Bill Allison "Bill Allison" (Southwest Missouri, United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Requiem (Audio CD)
I've heard these guys called "emo" and I've heard them called "metalcore". Well, I just call them a great f***ing rock band. "Requiem" caught my attention back during the Summer and I've kept it on steady rotation ever since. Go into it with an open mind and the first thing you will notice is the musicianship. The dual-harmonies and double bass bring to mind more NWOBHM than "-core". Then there's the vocals. Taylor Holland Armstrong's vocals are all his own. The guy is an actual singer, not a screamer and he's got a great range. In fact, it's easy to say that The Confession owe more to vintage-Maiden than Hatebreed. All of this and they're still able to give us something fresh and unique. Seriously, there's no one out there right now who sounds like this.

I could go on forever about how great tracks like "Burn the Virgin, "Through These Eyes", "Dance With the Devil", and the title-track are, but it really wouldn't do much justice. Let's just say that this set of tunes is so tight (and diverse) that a the skip button is never even necessary. This is, in short, a great album and I'm expecting big things from these guys. Give "Requiem" a chance and I think you'll agree.

5.0 out of 5 stars Give it a chance..., July 30, 2008
This review is from: Requiem (Audio CD)
I am a dedicated and loyal Avenged Sevenfold fanatic. And wanting to expand my listening I stumbled on the this band produced by A7X's singer M. Shadows. I gave it a sample listen and without thinking purchased it. The singer is by far extremely talented. He would have an act all his own if he played acoustically with his vocals. The guitarist shred the sound and all of the instrument with those vocals harmonize to a truly awesome experience. The lyrics may be suggestive to those on the fence with this band. But the songs will truly blow you away. This cd is staying in my car for a long time. I cannot wait to hear more from these guys.
