Wonderful Sequel,

This review is from: Requiem for the Phoenix (Paperback)
Another terrific book from author, Skip Allen!
As an insatiable reader, I profess that "Requiem for the Phoenix" is one of the most intricately plotted books I've read in a long, long time. I'm used to reading thickly woven tomes, but "Requiem's" plot stands out as very impressive--it is substantially wound around and around, through numerous characters, hidden agendas and happenings. Yet the characters and plots are vignettes in and of themselves. All the elements of Allen's first book, "Out of the Ashes," are in this sequel. For example, the elaborate descriptions of biological agents, weapons, geographical settings and of course, great, page-turning writing. Matt and Annie's relationship soars to new levels as does the action taking place in Greece, London and many places in between. And, as with Allen's first book, I was chilled to the bone with the fanaticism and terrorist mindset of al Qaida. This is a book that may well seep into your psyche, set up camp and make you open your eyes to look at things a bit differently. I highly recommend this book--you will keep turning the pages well into the inky night!

Move Over 24!,

This review is from: Requiem for the Phoenix (Paperback)
"Requiem for the Phoenix" is a thrilling story ripe for a TV mini-series. I liken it to the hit TV series "24" only more realistic. Skip Allen sets the stage for the action with well-rounded characters, love-to-hate politicians, terrorists of varrying personalities and motivations, and a fantastic plot!
