Bit of a surprise, May 18, 2008
This review is from: Rescue Me! (Harlequin Temptation) (Mass Market Paperback)
Cody Roberts is an action hero in the movies, until one morning he goes to a convenience store for coffee and thwarts a robbery, saving the teenage clerk and a woman named Jen. What follows is a journey of healing and discovery for Jen and Cody.
The thing that surprised me about this book is, there's no conflict between Cody and Jen. They don't have even so much as an argument or a difference of opinion through out the entire story. There is nothing keeping them apart. Plus, Cody is a great guy. He's generous to a fault, sweet, kind, and sensitive. His only problem happened prior to the start of the book. He lost his parents and went on a downward spiral that was chronicled in all the tabloids. He's in the process of making a new movie that he hopes will jump start his career again. Jen is also a really nice person as well as a talented cook, seamstress and is good with plants. She even takes in a stray puppy she finds in a gas station. Her best friend is Maria who runs a successful coffee shop. Jen's only issue is a controlling father who has mapped out Jen's life without any input from Jen herself.
A wonderful hero and heroine, with no conflict SHOULD make for a really boring book, but it doesn't. That right there was the biggest surprise. I couldn't put this book down. It was a fantastic read.

Terrific, should be a Blaze too!, June 12, 2006
This review is from: Rescue Me! (Harlequin Temptation) (Mass Market Paperback)
A woman goes into a convenient shop on route to a big move
she is making for a new life, away from Daddy and Daddy's pick
for a husband. But while she is shopping, a gunman comes in
to hold up the place. Zing...we go to our hero inventing
a way to save the day and nab the bad guy. But our hero
is reluctant to be news-targetted...and so the story starts.
This is great romance, tender and detailed love scenes, frequent too. Characters to enjoy. If anyone knows of a Minger follow-up to these two, please let me know. Thank you. And, I highly recommend this title, over and over again.
