the arms and legs of power rangers and other such action figures are scattered all over our home. but my four year cannot --try as he might --break the rescue heroes limbs. these are good, durable toys that show kids that the real heroes are service men & women - not space aliens. i love these toys and recommend them very highly to parents of toddlers to 8year olds.

I have twin 4 year old boys and they both love this toy. This toy is very durable and cleans up pretty easily (its often outside,in the mud at our house). The large feet (boots) make it easy for smaller unsteady hands to stand them up (and they actually stay standing). No backpack on this one but it doesnt seem to be missed. This toy promotes alot of imaginative playacting, safety and cooperation. Its just plain fun too.

this rescue hero is great, the all terrain vehicle is really sturdy and bill barker is a cool-looking guy. before getting this toy i read the review in which the person said the knot on the winch came untied, so the first thing i did was tie an extra thick knot in it, now i am certain it will not come undone. so dont let that put you off purchasing this really great toy.

My 4 year old loves this toy! So does my 6 year old son. It doesn't matter if there is no backpack that comes with Bill, because he's on a mission to haul people out of the mud. Who needs a backpack when you have a grappling hook on the front of your vehicle? I was concerned that he would not want to wind up the grappling hook each time with his finger, but he doesn't seem to mind. The wheels roll easily, even on carpet floors! This definitely keeps the interest of my sons! Not every toy has to have huge educational value. This toy is so popular, it does teach children the value of taking turns though!

I love this toy! Any of my other Rescue Heroes can ride on it. You can rescue people with the big hook and then carry them on the fold out stretcher. Their backpacks also hook on the back of the ATV. Very fun!

My 3 year old has loved this toy from the beginning. Its small enough to handle (and put away) and the "winch" is great. The "stretcher" on the back is fun, although it isn't very durable over a long period of time. Overall, this toy is great and is still a favorite after 6 months. Now if only I can keep him from bothering me about buying a real ATV!!

Another fabulous Rescue Heroes toy!
I've found these great for educating my boys about safety issues and for just plain old FUN!

My older son, who is now 11, played with his rescue heroes for may years. Now my youngest saterted to play with them and he loves them too. This one, in particular is both their favorite.

This was one of my son's first Rescue Hero items and it is still played with 2 years later. We haven't had any problem with the wench, as other writers have mentioned, and it is played with often. We love the fact that Rescue Heroes are very durable and made for the preschool age group, who can be very tough on toys. Any little boy will love this vehicle since it is an ATV, all little boys love 4 wheelers. Some of the other Rescue Hero vehicles have been discontinued, which is a shame, but this one I hope they keep making since it is a lot of fun for little boys.

First of all, the winch on the front of this ATV isn't a problem to rewind at all, if the knot doesn't come untied. Yes! It came untied after much use. I have three sons (ages 6, 5, and 4), and the knot that ties the winch to the pulley inside the roller finally came untied. (These toys are built better than Tonka.) Now they can't use the winch. They only transport patients on the back of it when they bother to play with it. I can't begin to get my fingers back in there to try to get the nylon cord rethreaded into the hole. I have tried everything -- even a small crochet hook. But I cannot get that thing rethreaded. And the thing about it is, they got it for Christmas 2001. I would have thought it would have lasted longer than that!
