This Book Rescued Me,

This review is from: Rescue Me (Leisure African American Roman) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book in one sitting today. This book was a great ending to the Holmes Trilogy. Renee and Alex were so good for each other. I am so happy that Alex found someone to make him happy. I wanted him to find the love that his brothers had. You could not but help want him to find true love. Renee loved him unconditionally and healed his broken soul.
His daughter Jasmine is adorable. She was one of the best parts of the book. Talk about a man's love for his child; even with learning the news that could have changed his life; his love for his daughter remained as strong as ever. The secondary story of his mother finding love again and finding a way to tell his sons was just as good as the main plot. Every part of this book was good and the author does a fabulous job of tying all three books together. This is a great story of family love and being there for your family no matter what. I am going back and re-reading Deliver Me and Release Me tomorrow. After reading this book, you will believe in love and fairy tales again.

Rescued,

Renee Moore had past family problems; Alex Holmes' marriage made for his problems. The two were an unlikely match until Alex's daughter, Jasmine acts up at school and the two meet when Alex volunteers at her school. Renee makes her mind up to go after this man.
The back drop of New Orleans after Katrina is the setting for the oldest of the Holmes' brothers story. However, the secondary characters in Gerald, Margo (Alex's mother), and her sneaking around from the boys makes for the most interesting reading along with the antics of daughter, Jasmine. This was an enjoyable read and recommended to those interested in family relationships, New Orleans with just the right amount of romance mixed in. Looking forward to Ms Rochon's next offering.

Finding Love,
By
This review is from: Rescue Me (Leisure African American Roman) (Mass Market Paperback)
Alexander Holmes has vowed never to fall in love again. His wife, Chantal, was killed in a tragic car accident. But Alex did not waste a lot of time with grief. He had to raise their daughter, Jasmine, and manage his construction company. As far as he was concerned, things would not be better. Within a short time, Alex was injured on the job, Jasmine began to act out in school, and his mother was acting different. As he recovered from his injuries, Alex decided to volunteer at Jasmine's school.
Renee Moore was Jasmine's Accelerated Reading teacher. She recently returned to New Orleans to help her aunt rebuild her home that had been destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. Renee wanted to meet someone but not fall in love. She had begun dating Rashid, another teacher from the school, but they did not have anything in common. When she met Alex at school, as he tried to use the copier, there was something electric between them. Renee was not ready for a serious relationship since she witnessed first hand how abusive relationships could be. Yet, after meeting Alex, she realized that falling in love was more than what she anticipated. Rochon, with her simple style of writing, put together a very enjoyable story with likeable characters. As they tried to define their relationship, Alex and Renee faced issues of single parents dating, abuse, trust and forgiveness. Readers will also enjoy the story line between the secondary characters, Margo and Gerald. Fans of Rochon will not be disappointed. Priscilla C. Johnson APOOO BookClub
