Even though the concept for this toy is simple, I believe you can truly use it as a teaching tool for young children. The Sad Eyes and the theme of "Rescueing" an animal along with the irresistable whine helps to teach children about Empathy and being kind to animals! You can help your child actually go online and adopt the pet, which is fun and also a learning experience! I also love that the company donate's a portion of the sale to Leash on Life, an animal Charity! Every time my daughters Rescue Pets whine I cant help but want to hug that thing, it really does pull at the "heart Strings"!

My 3 year old fell in love with it at first sight. However, it was a gift and it stopped working within a week. Since I did not have a receipt, I called the 800 number on the tag. They told me they would replace it but I had to mail it back AT MY OWN EXPENSE via a trackable method (this will cost as much as the toy) and they will send me a new one. First of all, any other company I have dealt with always sends a postage paid package to mail the product back in, secondly, my daughter is going to be hearbroken when I take her dog away. Needless to say, due to poor customer service, I will never buy nor reccomend another product from MGA Entertainment.

This is my perdiction for hot toy this year! It teaches kids about rescuing animals! It has the cutest lil' face too. Kids fall in love with it with a big awwwwwww. Also teaches children what it's like to care for a puppy, it whines for attention, just like a puppy. It is very cute and not annoying.

My 4-year-old son is a HUGE dog lover and has just embraced this little sad puppy. I thought it might be too sad for him, but he just loves to hug is when it makes its sad whimper. He says it one of the three best things he got for his birthday. Even my 6 year old plays with it!

These Rescue Pets are fun for all age groups. They have such realism and they want to be held or comforted like a real puppy dog. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase more of them in the future. Shopping for them on Amazon was especially grand for they had all styles available at once instead of me going back and forth to the stores trying to find them all. Thank you!

All this dog did was whine...he doesn't make any other noises. The dog would whine if someone walked past or even if we would hold him and play with him.

This got on my 8 year old daughter's nerves so much we had to return him the next day.

This toy is cute and it's fur is soft but the whining can be irritating. It makes the same sound each time which is triggered by touch or motion near it's right eye. I set it off just by walking by it. I assume that the whining can be stopped by simply removing the batteries but the toy comes with the batteries already in them. I can't disable it unless I open the packaging. Since I purchased it as a gift, that's not an option. Just moving the package around triggers it. The concept is nice though.

even though they have HUMUNGOUS heads, they are still very cute. they also make a big annoying sound like "MORNOR! MORNOR!.but they are pretty cute except the sound.REALLy!

Aww! These rescue pets are so adorable!I just saw them on a comercial and i decided to see if they were on the computer.I want one so bad for my birthday which is next month septemember 6th!
