5.0 out of 5 stars Calmed his doggy nerves
We have an adorable 2 year old Cockapoo who only recently started showing quite a bit of anxiety. He would bark at everything and everyone (a problem since we live in the city). We had tried training and positive reinforcement, and the whole thing seemed to get worse. We were at our wits' end.

I purchased Rescue Remedy because of several recommendations from friends for cats with asthma. My cat is diabetic, but also coughs several times daily. When he was at his worst, RR seemed to calm him down, but a prescription drug worked better; I now use it occasionally just to maintain his cool.

One of our Greyhound mom neighbors

said she had used this to calm her jittery pup, so we tried it. The first application...nothing. But we continued using it as directed for a few days. Today, I had him out on the deck with me, and whenever he'd start barking, I'd just call him back. The barking would stop, and he'd come.

I attribute the change directly to Rescue Remedy. I am really grateful...and I suspect our dog is really relieved.

I have 6 dogs and a cat. We recently made an 8 hour trip in an RV. I gave them each treats with the drops a half hour before hitting the road, and everyone was calm, quiet, and napping for almost the entire ride. The cat and five of the dogs got 4 drops on a treat. The weight range of them is 14-60 pounds. My other 75 pound dog needed 2 extra doses before finally calming down. I would absolutely recommend Rescue Remedy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bach Rescue Remedy for Pets.., June 20, 2010

Have been using Bach products for years and ultimately pleased with 'Rescue Remedy'. This product should be in every environment that involves animals, as it is an extremely safe and effective solution for supporting animals experiencing 'any' type of stress. Used it for both my cats when flying over a 5 hour flight - no medications were involved and they did wonderful.

I have a Persian cat who gets very upset when it is "Vet Time".. It seems to calm her down. I have to use more than the 4 drops on the pkg..It usually takes twice as much..I put it on her treats. She will usually take a long nap..Works ok for us..

1.0 out of 5 stars Placebos don't work on dogs, January 8, 2012
This review is from: Rescue Remedy Pet Formula (Misc.)
We bought some of this and tried it on our dog, who dreads fireworks like Donald Trump dreads a windy day. But when the New Year festivities broke out in our neighborhood, our poor pooch went into her usual St. Vitus Dance of fear. The Rescue Remedy made no change whatsoever in her behavior. We tried telling her that it is recommended by vets worldwide and that it is completely natural. We pointed out how fortunate she was in having owners who would spend about forty bucks per fluid ounce on a formulation that contains extremely minute quantities of Aspen, which Dr. Bach assures us will "help increase her sense of security and fearlessness", and Chestnut Bud, which "allows the animal to learn from experience so it can move on in life and not repeat the same mistakes".

We even demonstrated the math to her, showing that Rescue Remedy is so incredibly precious that we'd have to spend more than three million dollars on the stuff to accumulate one ounce of the active ingredient. As our precocious daughter pointed out to the dog, that is even more valuable than the Krabby Patty formula!

To alleviate any fears our dog might have about the nostrum itself, we showed her the manufacturer's web page, "Bachflower dot Com", which assures us that it is impossible to overdose on Rescue Remedy. Simply impossible. Showing her the math again, we explained that she'd have to drink several hundred of her 8-ounce doggy water dishes full of Rescue Remedy just to imbibe one gram of the active ingredient. And since we had given her only the recommended dropperful, it was completely safe.

But alas, all our explanations and assurances were to no avail. As the New Year fireworks exploded, and she cowered a-quivering and a-peeing on our bed, we realized that dogs are just not susceptible to the placebo effect. Well, at least I have learned from experience so I can move on in life and not repeat the same mistakes.

5.0 out of 5 stars either an amazing product or a coincidence, July 17, 2011

My cat was suffering from extreme anxiety because of fleas and because I had unwittingly poisoned him with Hartz flea drops purchased at Wal-Mart. He had lost most of his fur from scratching and over-grooming. He would perch as high as possible, avoiding the ground. I started putting a few drops in his water, on his food or on his paw. He started improving right away, grew back all his fur, stopped trembling and acting crazy. He's much better now.

I had high hopes for this product. My male cat gets into moods wherein he chases and attacks my female cat--at least that what it looks like to my human eyes. I was hoping this product would calm him down. Unfortunately, it does not.

I use this in addition to the D.A.P spray when my dog is having a really hard time. A few drops under his tongue and he can settle down.

OK, I was told great things about this to use on my cat. People use it to clip their nails; people use it to give to their animals for thunderstorms. People use it to give to their animals with riding in the car to calm them, etc. It didn't help me at all with my cat. My cat gets sick every time I put him in a carrier to take to the vet, didn't work for him. I could have an unusual case, but I will try to find something that will calm him a bit better.
