This album is just as good as Discovering the Waterfront, only difference is on DTWF is that it's catchier.

This album doesn't necessarily blow "Discovering the Waterfront" or "Shipwreck In the Sand" out of the water, but is easily their best to date. Heavy, fast, in-your-face, and emotional; not to mention, the maturity in the lyrics... excellent. There is no slacking on riffing, breakdowns, coordinated musicianmanship, vocals, or any aspect. (Silverstein's first solo blooms on Burning Hearts. Hopefully not their last solo.) Expectations were high after the exceptional album, "Shipwreck", and they were fulfilled. Highly recommended.

I was expecting a lot from the follow up of Shipwreck in the Sand. Silverstein really started to turn the page again once they popped out that album. I was one of the few who enjoyed Arrivals and Departures, mostly due to my love for anything pop-punk, and this album just seems so rushed.

Don't get me wrong, this album does contain a few great tracks. Burning Hearts is a great way to start off the album and is probably the best song on here. Darling Harbour is slow and yet still catchy and amazing. Darling Harbour and Replace You are tracks off their EP "Transitions." I highly recommend listening to the acoustic version of Replace You because it's simply brilliant. There are moments of greatness in this album when Shane sings that brings me back to their days with Discovering the Waterfront, but, sadly that feeling is short lived. It's not a bad album per say, but compared to what this band is capable of, it's a bit of a letdown. I still love Silverstein immensely and I won't ever stop listening to them but, there are certain days when I feel like going back 6 years to my days and high school and popping in Discovering the Waterfront, or if I'm just in the mood for some catchy tunes with Arrivals and Departure. I'm always in the mood for A Shipwreck in the Sand, I don't think I'll be in any mood to listen to Rescue apart from a few songs. This album does seem a bit rushed and forced and if you're a true Silverstein fan you'll be able to notice this.

Not a bad album boys, but, I know you can do better.

It has been a long time since I have heard anything new from Silverstein. The last album I had of theirs was Discovering the Waterfront and I was curious to know if they "still had it". Well I am very pleased to tell you that Silverstein still has what it takes to rock!! These guys are good and I love their album Rescue. It's awesome!

Silverstein has been doing it now for 12 years, and its refreshing that they have never become mainstream or changed drastically like many bands do today...i think of Avenged Sevenfold (in my opinion they're cd "waking the fallen" was incredible, but from there they went mainstream and barely screamed which is what i loved about them, and yes i know its because he couldnt anymore but still.) then theres Atreyu. like avenged sevenfold, their first few albums were really great, but as soon as their songs came on the radio, there was less screaming, they had changed their sound and i didnt care for them anymore. again, this is just my opinion. and one more band i think of is All That Remains. Great band, but mainstream got to them too, and now its just not the same as their earlier albums.

Sivlerstein, however, have stuck to what they do best, and they crank out one sick album after another. no major changes, just the same great singing/screaming combo from shane. and i love it when they throw in acoustic songs like replace you, my heroine, call it karma....or any of their slower songs too. they do it BEAUTIFULLY. But not only can they do that great, they switch it up and give you a song like "the artist" and "intervention" which in my opinion, are two of the heaviest and best on their latest album. Intervention is probably my favorite, but each song is remarkable.

This cd brings their talent to the front stage once again, and proves they are in it to stay true to who they are and what THEY want to do. I love that about them, and its why i will continue to buy their cds. One of the best bands out there in this genre!

I would be a liar if I said this wasn't another great album by Silverstein. If you like Silverstein then you know what you're getting. However, this is by no means a new Shipwreck in the Sand which I consider to be their best album to date.
