More About the Author

I have been writing since fifth grade, anytime I could find a quiet corner and prop a notebook on my knees. Even if I couldn't find the time or place, I always-always-always kept writing in my head. I tried to give it up more than once, even shredding a knee-high stack of poems and story starts. In time, I always go back to it because it brings me a unique sort of joy - the kind that springs from deep inside. Over the years, I've had a few nice responses from traditional publishers and a semi promise twice ... though I now know those aren't worth the paper they're not printed on. I was feeling pretty discouraged when a friend sent me an ad for self publishing on the Internet. Since I had quit my job to write full time (in spite of the fact that we were ranked with the working poor even while I was working) the 'no cost' factor caught my eye! I thought about it for awhile ... I had written more than 20 books and it looked as if they would all disappear when I did. Why not introduce all those characters via the Internet and give them a chance to survive? So here I am - Christian, wife, mother, grandma, author! I'm working hard to edit those books in the hope that readers will find a message that inspires them to delve into the best Book of all. I don't know you, but I know He loves you, and that's what my books are about. Blessings!

Life sounds like an easy recipe, right: grow up, find a job you love, get married, and live happily ever after. At 25 years old, Maura still acts like a teenager, hates her job, and has never found a man worth marrying. She's estranged from her father, wavers in her faith, and has no idea what she wants to do with her life. Then she meets Jason.

This not-quite-love story will have you wondering what decisions Maura will make and if she will ever have a happily ever after.

Most of this book has you in Maura's head. As a coming of age type story for a girl who is maturing late, it works very well to show you how so many of our young women are stuck in the shoes of teenagers and are unwilling to grow up. I love the surrounding characters in this easy, expressive read. And love how the Gospel message is as much a part of the story line as growing up is.

Great fun storyline with real life situations and happenings. Words describing areas were like picture frames of nature. Great plot or story lines

I enjoyed the book very much. It was one that I felt that all ages could enjoy and understand. My 10 year old granddaughter was interested because of the title.

I like these characters. It was a very enjoyable read. I really like finding romances where the author describes the attraction between two characters is a believable way, but you don't suddenly find yourself in the middle of soft porn. I wish there was a reliable rating system so you'd know what you're getting as far as descriptive sex scenes... but back to this book. Like I said, I'm a sucker for clean romance, but in retrospect, the thing that sticks out about this one is the effect of divorce on a small child. I thought that the hurt and betrayal she felt were very well portrayed. In the best of circumstances, divorce is hard on kids, but when one or both parents start messing with a kids head because of their own insecurities it's downright criminal. This main characters struggle, but eventual capacity for forgiveness, was also a lovely story in and of itself. This isn't War and Peace, but it's a very lovely, thought-provoking, afternoon read.

Great title. I so wanted to like the book. I was really disappointed. Wish I liked the main characters or the setting better.

I enjoyed this book. The main character, Maura takes a trip with her mother to see an old house she has inherited. The house is in need of major and costly repairs. It also is inhabited by many ladybugs. Maura's mother calls an exterminator to take care of the problem, but when an exterminator comes Maura talks him out of doing the job. Jason is also a carpenter and gives advice on how to fix the house. Maura is unexpectedly surprised when her father that she hasn't seen in 17 years shows up, claiming he is half-owner of the house. Maura doesn't want anything to do with him or his other family. The rest of the book deals with the conflict between Maura and her dad and her relationship with Jason.

This story was full of failures from the parents of both Jason and Maura. The mother's were both possessive of their children and tried to interfere in their lives. Paige wanted Maura to be like her in every way and Shalena wanted Jason to give her his money and jump when she said to. Larry needs to find himself a new wife. I hope they keep their mothers away from their home as much as they can. This is a good story to give to someone who has mothers like these to open their eyes to the way your mother can ruin your life if you allow her to get to much negative control over you and your future spouse.
