I read this book originally to please a friend. I'm not Christian, so I don't normally read books marked as such. However, after the first page, I couldn't lay the book down (always the sign of a good book). It starts out in the middle of an apocalyptic scene of America after the financial crash that takes out the government, and was really an adventure all the way through. I didn't find it condescending or overly concerned with teaching a moral, I found it exciting. It even made me cry because emotions were so clearly felt and communicated (crying is so not cool!).

I recommend this book to everyone. Even the non-Christians among us. It's just a really good adventure that will have you reading late into the night in order to finish it. I couldn't put it down.

A refreshingly different perspective on what our future could very well look like. With so many writers rejecting and even attacking the very core of our country's spirituality, I was pleased to read a book that actually embraced it. However, the target audience is not limited in any way to hard core believers. Just about anyone who is interested in what the future (in our lifetime) may look like, would enjoy reading this well written work. I look forward to book 2!

This is a great read by new author Amanda Washington. She puts us in the near future in a world where the economy has collapsed and anarchy reins. Very strong complex characters that take you on a journey to safety while pondering how we got in this situation in the first place. Makes you think.

Rescuing Liberty is a great exploration of the fragility of the society that we live in and how, in its demise, some fall from grace while other can achieve a greatness they would never have found otherwise.

I just finished "Rescuing Liberty" and I enjoyed it very much. The Characters jumped right off the page and made themselves known - they were believable and real. The author really made me care about what happened to them, which is sometimes difficult to do. The story flowed well, and the dialog and writing style was excellent.

I usually don't like books written in first person, as this one was, and I did find it a bit confusing at times to have to stop and remember whether Liberty or Connor was speaking, but overall, it left me wanting to read the next books in the series to find out what happens to Liberty, Connor and Ashley. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a pleasurable read.

Amanda Washington is an Amazing debut author! I fell in love with this story straight from the beginning--and was hooked the whole way through. If you want an inspirational, emotional, action packed, roller coaster ride, then pick up this awesome Apocalyptic masterpiece, you will not be sorry you did!

This was an excellent book. It kept my interest from the very beginning. I enjoyed the characters and the plot kept me wanting to read more. I can't wait for the next installment.

Excellent book from start to finish! The story line is brilliant and the way she ties in the main characters' pasts into the present with an interesting religious overtone is absolutely genius. I couldn't put it down until I had read the whole thing. I can't wait for book2.

Just finished Rescuing Liberty. It was a good read and left you intrigued to learn more in the next novel of the outcomes of our freedoms and liberties of life as we knew it before the govenments fall but also to find out how the main characters Connor, Liberty and Ashley endure through it all. This young author is imaginative and creative and has no limits on her talent.

I'm not a big reader of fiction, because all too often the characters are shallow and subject matter is not very captivating.

"Rescuing Liberty" was a great read for me because the characters had depth and I could relate to them on a spiritual level. The subject was also appealing because it is a story of struggle, pain, perseverance, patriotism and redemption.

While I did have some difficulty with the many transitions between, reality, dreams and memories, I think the sequences help develop the characters.

I highly recommend this book to those who are concerned about the times in which we live and fear the worst. It's a good prophecy that even in the worst of times there can be decent, moral, strong people that make life worth living.
