I found the book accessible and a good companion to the others that I've read while starting a doctorate program. Each step of the research process is mapped out with clear descriptions. Especially appreciated were suggestions for assessing the internal reliability of studies in language education. Definitely worth a look if one needs a concise overview of the research process.

I had the only review available saying the book was not so good. I disagree. The book is nice and has a very friendly language to talk about research and statistics. I definitely recommend it.

No complaints, book was in near perfect condition. This was a required reading for a graduate class. Books are great to buy used.

I find myself forcing myself to read every page of this book. It's required reading. You would think that since Perry understands English as a native speaker of the language that he could write it in a way that's not so dry and where he can convey whatever he is trying to convey in a simplified manner. He complicates things too much when reading and for people who are in the TESOL field, it doesn't attract us to research, but rather turns off from research. We are focused on application of teaching methods, not research. It would definitely be useful to apply research methods, but things should be digestible.
