If you have the GameCube version, do not waste your money unless you are a major collector!! That being said...This game still rocks! I have been playing this game for a very long time, and I never get bored with it. THis game is very creepy, and atmospheric. Lots of fun! I really dig the co-op play in this game. You can control both Billy and Rebecca, and you can also exchange items. I also love the fact that you can drop an item and come back for it later (if you lack inventory space). This game has it all (in my opinion). If you love killing zombies, you will enjoy playing RE games (espcially this one).

Reviewers have whined about the controls, to the limited inventory space, to loading screens between each room (whatever they could pick at). All their complaints are really unintelligent. The limited inventory is supposed to be part of the challenge so you have to be careful what you decide to keep & take with you. You can leave objects on the floor & they will stay there till you come back. Loading screens is because the backgrounds are pre-rendered meaning static portraits not 3d so there's no way to walk thru a door & have it seemlessy transition because they aren't polygons. In my opinion the newer Resident Evils are shooting galleries. They're easy with no thought or inventory management, no puzzles, no "survival" aspect. In the new games you can shoot a knee cap, then do a kick that knocks groups of enemies back which is just absurd. In this one it's not about aiming a bullet but deciding how many to use on what bad guy in which room. Saving bullets, knowing not to carry save game items when not near the save points, having to give an item to your second character that you can switch to at anytime. You can simultaneously move your second character with the C-stick.
The only thing to consider is it would benefit from a faster method of giving items between your two characters like throwing them across the room or sliding them on the floor. This one is also technically inferior than Resident Evil 1 remake because the zombies don't break thru doors & continue chasing you.

Point is both Resident Evil 1 is better, next is Zero, 3rd is Resident Evil 4. And that's just reality because look at the prices on Amazon. The remakes are worth more than any of the recent releases 4-6. This game is more challenging & doesn't give you hints or make situations easy. You have to figure it out. I definitely recommend this game.

a very unique game as part of the main series featuring Rebecca and one hit wonder Billy

this was at the time during the time this game was done in the still beautiful RE Remake engine with its wonderful atmosphere , detailed environments and unique mechanic of switching between characters and inventory items such weapons , ammo etc.... .

as for our main characters we have the adorably smart Rebecca who can make herb combinations but has small HP so she cant take to many heavy attacks and we have billy and HE!!!! is a TANK!!!! this guy can take soooo many hits that your better off making him sweep the whole game of monsters .

story in this game is still wonderful tho from this game there where still many left out questions that we fans wanted answers .

a big warning is to save often specially at the water facility cuz you don't want to be eaten the frogs and lose an 1 -2 hours of progress

the mini game is quite challenging if you want to get all the special weapons

i highly recommend this this game for new comers and new fans of the series .

i bought this game when i realized it was no longer in my collection, i probably let someone borrow it and never got it back. anyways its another release, works great, works with the nunchuk and wiimote,no motion controlls just the buttons on them, and the original gamecube gontroller. my only gripe is that it renders the game in 4:3 aspect ration while on the game cube i could stretch the image to 16:9 ratio. o well live and learn, anyways the game looks just fine on an sd tv, nothing else to say.

This is the first RE I finished and for that has a special place in my heart because I really enjoyed the game. I have played the old PS1 games, but I never actually finished them, this game however got me hooked and I was determined to finish it. It has been seen by many as a lesser title in the series but I really don't see why. It's just as a good as all the others. But on to specifics:

1)Graphics are amazing, it looks like an HD game in terms of how graphics look
2)The atmosphere is typical RE, has a creepy feeling, and you never know what's around the corner(I've been surprised by leech zombies too many times)
3)The puzzles got a bit confusing, but nothing some thinking won't solve, after all, the fun part are solving the puzzles as well as killing the undead
4)This game even has replay value similar to RE 4 because you get costumes and if you play an unlocked mini game, you can unlock weapons to use in main game.

Overall, its a great game and essential to any RE collection.
