If you have the GameCube version, do not waste your money unless you are a major collector!! That being said...This game still rocks! I have been playing this game for a very long time, and I never get bored with it. THis game is very creepy, and atmospheric. Lots of fun! I really dig the co-op play in this game. You can control both Billy and Rebecca, and you can also exchange items. I also love the fact that you can drop an item and come back for it later (if you lack inventory space). This game has it all (in my opinion). If you love killing zombies, you will enjoy playing RE games (espcially this one).

With the latest Resident Evil games, the formula has changed. Gone are the days of intriguing puzzle solving and true SURVIVAL horror. Resident Evil Zero sticks to the original survival horror formula, which is guaranteed to have you biting at your fingernails. The Wii controls consist of the the Wii controller and the Nun-chuck, which after a little getting used to become rather natural, and quite honestly, fun. The graphics, although slightly aged by today's latest standards, are non the less beautiful and captivating. With a component video cable for your HD TV, the quality can be slightly improved; however, the game will stretch the game image rather than truly portray it in full 480p wide-screen. Through a receiver with Pro-Logic sound capabilities, one can play the game in surround sound, which although not the same quality as true 5.1 encoded sound, is still very successful at keeping the player immersed with all kinds of scary sounds (lightning, zombie moans, etc.) If you would like the benefits of simulated surround sound, a fresh approach to controls, and happen to own a Wii, then this is definitely a good purchase. If you already own this game on the GameCube, then I would refrain, since it's the same game without a few hardware (not software) perks.

This game does not go well with WII. A traditional game controller will be better.
The story and images are excellent.

The Worst Game In the Series,
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero (Video Game)
As a long-time fan of the Resident Evil franchise, I can honestly say that this is the worst title in the series. If you played the original, you're already quite familiar with Rebecca Chambers and her annoying mannerisms. Billy Coen is your typical throwaway anti-hero with a checkered past. Together they slog through some really uninspired level designs, and fight scores of bland enemies that don't expand far beyond "giant bat" or "monkeys with skin problems". Sometimes Billy utters a sentence fragment or you get a high-pitched squeal from Rebecca, but don't expect much more from the game in terms of dialogue.
The bits of the Resident Evil backstory and what happened between Wesker/Birkin at the Spencer Estate are kind of interesting, but it's hardly enough to justify the price tag for this title. Pretty much everything revealed in this game has already been rehashed in The Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles and Resident Evil 5, anyway. In short, avoid this game like the plague.

Might as well set some money on fire instead of buying this game,

....At least the fire will keep you warm. My son and I got sucked into the Resident Evil Series by playing RE4, which was awesome. Then we got the umbrella chronicles, and had a different kind of fun shooting zombies on the "rail shooter" action. So we found a copy of RE0 at Gamestop and thought to continue the fun. Boy I hate it when reality spoils my plans:
The Good - This is a pretty good looking game for the Wii,and especially good at setting a suspenseful tone. The Bad - The controls are horrible. I know this is supposed to be a retro game, but why in the world would you release a Wii game zombi shooter that takes absolutely no advantage of the Wii system itself? Making the characters walk is hard enough, but you often waste time trying to "find" things that are right in front of you. Aiming by using the nunchuck joystick is just plain stupid. And don't get me started on the camera angles that have you fighting zombies that you can't see. The ugly - seriously? They designed a controller sequence to climb stairs and ladders? A stair simulator? And I guess they were trying to save money by getting bad voice actors, but the programmed characters themselves look like cheesy actors - I'm not even sure how a programmer creates "bad acting". Strange. In short, save your money and wait for RE5 for the Wii.....

It is very strangely laid out. The controlls are hard to use, and the camera doesn't keep in time with what you are doing. There isnt any way of changing the camera angle and the way you play so it is very difficalt. I wouldnt reccomend buying this, as for me its a waste of money.

If you or your partner dies, you are forced to go all the way back where you started the game to repeat from last save point. This is so annoying and I dont want to play anymore! Game developers should add more save points like in "RE 4".
