5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing reprint/collection of the Fire and Ice comic series.
For those of you who were not aware of this, Resident Evil had a short comic series known as Fire And Ice. Meant as a media tie-in after the first two games (which was later contradicted in the latter games), I still say it is a great/fun read. The artwork, even though it look childish, (it's a comic, what do you expect?) is absolutely brilliant.

Now, what...

1.0 out of 5 stars Backgrounds?
This is a collection of some cheap tie-in comics. Art-wise its just awful, the characters only have detail in their faces in close ups other times its eyes nose mouth, or heavy shadowing like they are all Spawn without his mask. The thing that bugs me most is the complete lack of backgrounds, when they are in the mountains the backgrounds are just plain greys, when they...

This review is from: Resident Evil: Fire and Ice (Resident Evil (Wildstorm)) (Paperback)

Now, what does graphic novel does is that it takes all 5 comics and adds them all up. So for those of you that want a nice (amusing) read, missed out on the comics, or lost an issue of their comics, etc, pick this up. Even if you own the comics, I'd encourage you to purchase this, because not only included is the Fire & Ice series, but a couple of short stories written in the short-lived Resident Evil Magazine that would have explained some rather unexplained events in the series, such as the S.T.A.R.S. debriefing after the mansion incident, John (Ada's "boyfriend") and his demise, etc.

It should be added though, that the book itself is non-canonical (as are most media tie-ins) so try not to take it seriously.;)

The thing that bugs me most is the complete lack of backgrounds, when they are in the mountains the backgrounds are just plain greys, when they are in the desert they are just plain sandy colours, The skies have no clouds, walls have minimal brickwork patterns that disappear into plain grey. The story is stupid and boring, and the characters are stock. Just play the games and avoid this.
